I relapsed?

First of all................ NO I DID NOT RELAPSE!!!!! I almost have two years. My clean date is 5-25-05 and I fully plan on keeping it. But that was the rumor a few days ago last week. I missed my Saturday meeting when we went camping. Then Monday night we worked. Tuesday my phone was ringing. Evidently, I was seen on the bus. Loaded. LOL. I have two trucks. Why would I ride the bus? LOL. At first, it kinda pissed me off. Then I said, "What the heck?" "Who cares?" I was actually kinda touched that people were calling to check on me. Someone cares. At one time, I probably would have flipped and went looking for whoever started the rumor. Today, I dont care. I know better, my friends know better. Unfortuneatly rumors and gossip are a part of life. Not just in NA, but everywhere. Doesnt mean we have to be a part of it though. Today I have a choice. I choose not to use. I also choose not to be involved in gossip. Even if its about me. Hope I didnt scare anyone with my thread title. Me riding the bus? Yeah right.

Funny- There were times a couple of years ago when I would go visit my father in NY and people would begin questioning where I was. I said if you ever have a question about me call my sponsor because to this day I talk to my sponsor everyday.

Lay off us bus people> lol I always looke d down on bus riders, but since losing everything to crack, I now ride the bus to NA meetings and my new job. It is a humbling experience and good for my recovery. I help people on and off with packages, offer a quarter when they are short on their fare, and engage in conversation with those who are receptive. I am now content as a bus person, but can't freaking wait to get back on the road!!!! lol

Oh, I lost everything to Crack too. And I started out as a "bus person" myself. Several thousand in unpaid traffic tickets and a suspended license. 21 months later.............. Two trucks (Had three, sold one) Three Quads, and a successful paint contarcting business. Yes, I agree. Riding the bus is humbling and good for recovery. It also helps to appreciate a drivers license and wheels when you get them back.

reminds me of when I came home from prison (clean time & recovery still intact) and got immediately back involved with the fellowship. A rumor was circulating that I had used and it got back to me. At first I was upset, then it dawned on me that the truth requires no defense. My sponsor suggested that I pray for the misinformed and misled.

i used to take the bus myself. i am fortunate now i have a 2000 cadillac. and a 2000 windstar. but i know if one of my cars break down i know how to ride the bus..... i mentioned my cars, i am grateful for them because these are the kinds of things you get when you stay clean.

my name is kimmie and i am new to this site, i have 80 days clean, i relapsed at xmas time because my 21 yr old went to prison, and i had a hard time with that. but i am now working my steps with a AA sponsor, i go to NA but i like my AA sponsor better than my NA sponsor. so i dropped the NA sponsor, and i am currently working on step 4. i havent yet started 4 but i will my sponsor keeps bugging me to write my list. i just want to be strong in my recovery for my son, so he can see that it does work.

thank you for letting me post. i am kimmie a grateful recovering addict who used to ride the bus.....
