| Talk to my Sponsor
I really tried to find another place to post this here on the forums, but I couldn't find a place that felt right. I talked to my sponsor tonight about going in a different direction. You know what the first thing she asked me was? "you don't want recovery anymore?" Lie NA is the only way that a person can recover. She asked me if I quitting the program. I said I was going in a different direction, if she wanted to call it quitting then she could. She asked if I was going to area, I said no, she asked if I was going to resign, I said yes. She was short with me after that and hung up. If people are going to act like that and say that they found a bew way to live then I am glad of my decision to go in a different direction.

Remember Sponsors are addicts too. Maybe her first reaction was betrayl or her feeling inadequate because your leaving her. Maybe she has had abandonment issues in her past? I don't know but if you prayed about this and will server your higher power else where, then this is the path your on. I know for me I usually set dates ie.... I'm going to do this for 4 months if in that 4 months I pray/meditate and feel the power push me in another direction then that's the path I'm believe I need to go on. If I make a commitment ie... I make a service commitment for a year, recovery has taught me to honor that commitment regardless of how I feel. Did you hold a position at area? I'm sure your enthusiasm will be missed.
