Anyone else here like visiting new meetings? In new towns? In new states? I am working in Wyoming and just went to my 2nd meeting here. Its really cool to visit new groups and meet new people. Heck, while I am here I may even venture into Colorado and Nebraska to hit a meeting. Both states are fairly close.

we had a group of 4 of us in California who would meet up every Thursday afternoon to drive to a new meeting during my 1st part of recovery after 90days in rehab, until I moved back to Michigan at 11 month's, I have been to a couple meetings while out driving semi truck too, down in Indy, and one in Denton TX were a Mexican named Juan, seen my NA t-shirt as I was going to the restroom and refueling at a TA truckstop which is also a bus station, he came over introduced himself and gave me a hug and we had a 2 person meeting right there while he was waiting for his bus, he had 11 years clean. I just got a laptop finally to take back out on the road , so i can get meeting info off the NA WORLD homepage and hit more while I am out there. Keep Rocking Recovery!

I brought my laptop along too. I can look up meetings then do a Mapquest.  Last January I went to visit my Dad in Florida and hit a couple meetings there too. I can remember looking up the local AA or NA hotline to find a meeting. If someone even answered. I had times when nobody even answered the hotline. I would be a recording.  And if you did get someone, then you still had to find it. Thanks too modern technology, recovery on the road has become a little easier.

Very cool, Mike and Thundar. It's the most amazing and humbling thing that I can go anywhere in the US and abroad and find a meeting with strangers that will welcome me with open arms. I never, ever, ever have to be alone again.

i try to get at to at least 1 meeting a week out of my area....i love it! t2s i'm going to be heading to oregon for work soon and want to hit some meetings while i'm there. i'll pm you for suggestions if that is cool? oooh the nor cal convention is coming up in april if people are interested. its always a biiiiiiig fun weekend in the bay area!! merry christmas to all and to all a good night! xo heart |
