One thing that I need to remember is that the article is talking about statistics. Also I think that they should try another route such as treatment, drug court is happening now. WE need to remember that they are sick people just like us. WE all have a disease just like they do, the only difference is that we are trying to do things different today.

Remember that none of us are any better than anyone that is selling dope, using dope, etc. We are all equal! The reason that I have not responded to this topic is because I knew that it was going to end up in a controversy. I think that these people need help and that if they want what we have they need to do what we are doing. I say give them treatment for they are sick people just like us. Killing people isn't the answer!

Truthfully before Elvis went in the pokey I was typical middleclass and clueless. Some of the things Elvis tells me about the inhabitants of pokeyville could curl your hair. Ive also heard many sad stories from my fellow visitors. Some of them could even be people from this forum, their stories sound so familiar . LOL.

This is just my opinion but I dont think you can legislate behavior. We tried that with prohibition. It didnt work. If there is a demand for something there will always be people who are willing to supply it.

Also I think some people just have addictive personalities. Its in their genes. Its hereditary. They cant help it. Even if we eradicated all the dope in the world they would still find something else. Even if they had to lick toads or sniff paint. And dont forget theres always alcohol which IS legal.

You can look at the problem from two angles. One. we should feel compassion for these people and try to help them because of all the damage theyre doing to themselves and their families. And two all of their shenanigans are costing the rest of us a lot of money.
I believe in rehab for both reasons.

I also think we should treat addicition as a disease and screen for it in childhood like we do other hereditary diseases and start treatment then..

Its More About Incarerate the Barrons and Surplyers,..and Rehabilate the Addict.
As there is No Way you can Rehabilate someone from the Power and Money these People Have at hand,.....and its That them Goverments Should aim there fight Not at the Addict looking for a bag,...or his Dealer or his for that Matter you have to up the Chain and Take out the Right people, ...!

Money makes the world go round. It has been said that if you took all the money in the world and gave everyone an equal share that sooner or later it would all wind up right back where it came from. In the U.S. we do not live in a democracy but we live in a republic for which we stand. Our government is designed to keep the rich people rich and keep the poor people down. I wake up in the morning and I ask myself is life worth living or should I blast myself. They are giving crack to the kids who the h*ell cares one less hungry mouth on welfare. First ship'em dope and let them deal to each other give' em guns and step back and watch kill each other. Its time to fight back. I've got love for my brothers and sisters but we can never go nowhere unless we care for each other. It's time for us as people to start making some changes. Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live and lets change the way we treat each other. You see the old way isn't working so it's on us as people to do what we got to do, to survive. We gotta make a change. Learn to see me as a brother not as a distant stranger and that's the way its supposed to be.
