A NA Way To Life!

I have come to believe that there is only one way for this addict to live and that is the NA Way of Life. NA has given me the tools in which now I can deal with the everyday trials of life. I remember when I first got in the Program back in 2002, and people kept talking about the tools that they use, but yet they wouldn't say what those tools were. I was really confused to say the least. Today I have a set of my own tools that I use that NA has given me.

1. H.0.W. = Honesty, Open-mindedness, Willingness
2. The Twelve Steps, the Twelve Traditions, and The Twelve Concepts
3. Faith
4. Hope
5. Courage
6. Humility
7. Trust
8. Love
9. Self Acceptance
10. Sharing and Caring

These are just a few of the things that NA has given me! The life that I live wouldn't be possible today if I didn't have the support and the fellowship of the programs that are given to us. I know today that there is nothing that is worth using over! I also know that one of the biggest tools that will save us is intensive work with another addict (alcohol is a drug) and I believe that this process in which it is will give us more peace and contentment and some self worth that none of us would have had using.

Today being clean has to be the first thing in my life besides my God for without the clean part I wouldn't be even able to see or to listen to my God.

So what has the NA Way of life given you?

It has given me a whole new life. It has brought me from a broken down, unemployable mess to someone who can hold her head high again and able to work with small children to help them in their lives. It has given me back my self respect. It has given me a Higher Power that has changed my thinking. I love the 12 steps....they have saved my life

I don't trust any meetings for the fact that when I was in rehab once a girl got kicked out and come to find out she was in my house with my husband. The only way she knew him was from when he came to visit me and what do I get, her clothes hidden behind my wash machine !

Sorry this happened to you. What does this have to do with NA meetings? The problem was with a girl you knew in rehab, not NA.

NA way of life has given me open mindedness, honesty, serenity and tools i can use to love myself. it has also given me freedom from active addiction!
