methadone and supervised visits?

Yes I can relate to that for you,...from my expericance as a mother on methadone haveing supervizde vist's...!!!,...Yes in England it was o.k for me too see my kids while on methadone,.....but Now that im not on meth,...the ex b/f to my girl still is and my mum and I wont let him see her until he lean's up...!
You can over here i dont know about in the U.S...!

But I had to do it to keep my girl safe,....it would freak her out Big time...!

Im sure if you explain that he's still useing ,....Yes Supervized vist's could be set up..!

My guess (I'm not a lawyer) is that supervised visitation would be considered, particularly if he's on a higher dose of methadone. But, again, that is just a guess. But if he could get a doctor to testify he isn't impaired while taking it, he may have a chance at non-supervised visitation, or supervision in his own home or that of a family member, rather than through the state. Or be restricted in driving with the children, if he can drive at all.

I know a couple of people that have had court ordered visitation through the state, and that is really rough on the kids...their time is so limited, as is their interaction with the parent. Of course, in some cases, it's the only way to protect the child physically. It's just sad for all involved.

The whole point of custody and visitation is to determine the best interest of the child, hopfully you will have a judge that will be wise in that regard.
