| Miss Grumpy Pain in the Pants | Depression and Anxiety
I'm in such a funk right now and I'm not sure what to do. I'd love to be able to get an appt. with a counselor right now but it's too hard. It's too late in the day. May be I should go to an AA meeting? Sometimes being there makes me more depressed and anxious.

Thank you DK. There is a 7pm central women's meeting. How timely. I've never done the online meeting thing so we'll see how it goes. Thank you so much. By the way - One of the therapists that I left a message for today called me and I've got an appt. with him on Sat. And going to see my MD on Thursday. Soooo, may be I can get this crap over with. I hate anxiety and depression. My mind is racing and it's killing me. Wearing me out. May be I need a good cry. ~doll

(((Paper))) A good cry is quite releasing for us at times. It releases stress hormones in the tears. LEt it rip, if you need to, and don't apologise for it. Nothing wrong with a good cry now and then. Just don't STAY in the depression. Good luck with your meeting...... ![]() Shalom!

well, today is a new day. I feel decent although I didn't sleep well. I'm getting pretty used to that. The meeting was very good. Everyone was very supportive of each other. It felt good to get it all out and hear that I'm not crazy! Hah! Who wudda thought? MD tomorrow and therapy on Saturday. I hope the therapist works out, it's so hard to find someone you click with. Again, thank you doorknob for pointing me towards lifering.com. There are a great bunch of people there. Absolutely no judgement whether you are an AAer of SMART or any other way to get sober. Everyone was/is welcome. I wish you all a wonderful day. ~doll
