Thumbs up ~Grey Sky Lifters~

I did something nice for myself today...............I haven't gotten a haircut in many many years.always saying, oh I'll cut it myself, will save money.....but really it was my panic attacks stopping me!

Today I took my daughter in to have her hair cut and was sitting there thinking how hot and heavy MY hair felt.....I went up to the counter, signed my name.....within 30 minutes had a new do! It looks fabulous if I do say so myself. I absolutely love it!

I totally changed the forecasr today.it is rainy out here today and just humid and yucky....I was tired and feelin a bit stressed.......but the new hair style just lifted me up0.

Don't forget to pamper yourself people! YOU'RE worth it..........I always put it off, make excuses.....yada yada blah blah blah...........as Nike says....JUST DO IT!

2stop, I agree. Many times I put cosmetic stuff off but, always feel so much better after I've taken time. Just think, while drinking our appearence and feelings didn't often match. Taking time to pamper/reward yourself is very healthy in sobriety.Don

Yep, pampering yourself is a love (tho not always the cheapest, lol) remedy for depression.

Great thread!
And you're so right. We ARE worth taking care of ourselves! Forget those negative voices that allow us to put it off.
Ya know, I just may get my hair cut today, myself!

Shalom!

I agreee. I always seem to feel better whenever I get my haircut (or pamper myself in some small way). It sure does help me deal with things better (for some reason).
