| What Is Worse? Anxiety Or Depression?
I suffer from both to one degree or another, neither one to the point of not being able to function to some degree. But lately I have noticed my anxiety has taken over first place. I am almost suffering daily from high anxiety. I dont fight it, I just accept it, but I am getting pretty damn angry that I have to feel this way all the time. Im really sick of the worry and anxiety and being nervous and uncertain. I really hope the psyche doctor helps me with meds and therapy. May 31st seems like a long ways away.

(((Bozo))) I understand how you feel. I have the same problems. And, like you, the anxiety has overcome the depression. Positive self talk; rejecting negative self talk; meditation; getting enough sleep; deep breathing are all tools I've learned to help myself. I also am seeing my old counselor again, and she's great feedback for me. Finally, I'm off the Welbutrin/zyban which can cause anxiety. I no longer am taking anything except trazadone for help sleeping at night. No more xanax; no more seroquel. Getting enough sleep makes a huge difference for me, along with those tools listed above. Life isn't perfect; it's my job to accept that. Wishing you the best! Shalom!

My post got dumped! Anyway......would you rather have your left foot cut off or your right? Guess I will be more brief this time. SO...both are serious, both are debilitating and I understand about May 31 being a long way away. My next appmt is Sunday (yeah, I know that sounds strange) and it seems a long way away. I sure hope you get some help.....you have been suffering and struggling with this for a long time. You deserve to be well and happy. You are a great person and you deserve to be able to live with your full quality of life. Please know I am rooting for you.!

anxiety/depression seem to run together a lot. I know it seems like a long way to get to the dr's office, but it will be here soon. Just hang in there. I know how you feel. I think they are both horrible. I think me being anxious leads me to being depressed!

Bozo.......anxiety can be a disorder, as I believe it is for both of us, but my Dr so often stressed that our circumstances have a great deal to do with its severity and our ability or inability to cope and our suffering. I know enough about you to know that much in your life is HIGH anxiety, which makes the problem exponentially worse. You are dealing with stuff that would have anybody strung out. And when it is day in and day out, it is like an avalanche.

I can't say which is worse. I guess it depends on the situation. For me.....sometimes it's the depression. Other times it's the anxiety. It all depends on the situation that I'm having to deal with. And like liveweyerd said, "they run together kind of like two sides of the same coin." Heads.....it's one way. Tails.....it's another. It just all depends on how it is flipped.
