| A not so good appt today :(
Well the appt did not go as well as expected... I waited months for this appt and what my sister said would happen, happened.... Basically the doctor wants to do blood work to see if the imprimine is even enough to "work". She's been on it a YEAR now and has told him several times it doesnt work. Only now when I go in (and I know my mom has voiced her concerns to the doctor too), does he decide to do blood work. Soooo she needs to do the blood test and then we go back in 2 weeks. I was truely hoping he'd change her meds. He did give her Klonipin but I don't think she needs that as much as something for the depression. While I understand the blood test, she said this is the first med she's been on (first time around) that hasnt worked period. Every other med she's been on worked until she had to go off of it (pg related in the past). Plus she has sleep issues (not sleeping for days and then sleeping for days) and he didn't address those AT all. I thought for sure he'd give her something to help her sleep but nope.... And he knocked down her adderal from 65mg a year ago, to 40mg in like Nov, and 30 mg today. She needs it to function. He did change how she takes it (not all at once, but through out the day now) but I honestly think it was a BAD mistake on his part. Sadly b/c of her insurance issues (medicaid) she is very very limited as to what doctors she can see. My daily journal I post thoughts about my sister's condition as well as stuff going on in my daily life... |

Lachesis, Is this a psychiatrist or a physician. If it is a physician I would ask to see a psychiatrist. They should have been doing blood levels every six months. If she took her medication before going in that day then the levels won't be acurate. I think the blood test needs to be 11 or 12 hours after the last dose. We have to time it just right in the facilities we work in. Just keep nagging until they get it right. Hugs, MG |
