Hi.I have been taking 60ml of Cymbalta for about a year now.It was prescribed for me while I was in rehab last year. One night I drank on it and got extremlely suicidal, there are reasons why on the label it says not to mix with alcohol...Anyway I have since been clean.I feel ok on it.I mean I'm not jumping around doing cartwheels or anything but I don't want to die. I'm glad i'm sober today.

I was only on 30ml at that time as well. While your drinking on it you will feel fine then all the sudden it would hit me and I would get all weepyand sad, people were like,"what are you on?" you probably should just stop taking it until you quit drinking because it won't work properly for you.Be careful it really is dangerous OK?R u trying to quit the booze?

To be honest Koko I've been trying to quite since 1993. Probably not trying hard enough. Mostly a loner drinker at home so I just stay out of the way.
I've basically have been using alchohol as my antidepressant. If that makes any sense.

I was just reading some of your posts.Believe it or not we have a lot in common.I have alot of those thoughts of being horrible and I am a mother of two little ones-I have endangered my own family-I thought that guilt would kill me or make it real easy to keep on using.I have to go grab my little one off the bus -I'll be back in a bit.

Just wondering - have anyone experienced weight gain with this med?

I've been on the med-go-round and am still trying to find one that works. I'm willing to give Cymbalta a go, but I'm sick of the weight gain that I've experienced with other meds. If I wasn't depressed before, packing on 50 pounds in 6 months is a great way to start.

Thanks for the help.

I lost weight on Cymbalta. About 10 pounds I haven't gained anything back. You kind of lose your appetite in the beginning.

Thanks.

I know everyone is different, but I'm trying to get a handle on what is the common result.

Most if not all of the companies won't cop to the fact that these meds will cause you to gain weight. The official website for Cymbalta doesn't have much to say about....well....anything.
