Going Postal!

excerpt from my Book in Progress at zhentemple.com

The Difference between Vocation and Occupation, and Why We Must Integrate Them

Along the way of our industrial revolution, technological advances somewhat exceeded our ability to grasp how to use them. In Reality, the technology that made oppurtunities to "make money" possibly were already there, and we didn't "discover them" as much as we simply "uncovered them." Also along this way, a certain division was made of Labor.

Labor to make money became what is known as an Occupation. Labor of our own amusement and enjoyment, even if as service, paid or not, remained a Vocation. For example, most Data Entry Professionals of today do not view their Occupation as their Vocation. Their Vocation may be writing and journalism, but they are not getting much of that done because their Occupation is taking their time and hurdling its progress. "We have mouths to feed and a house to pay for" is a common expression to rationalize this type of hinderance off.

Which is more important to you, your Occupation or your Vocation? Wouldn't it make seense to make them the same thing? The term "Going Postal" is applied to people who just get sick of working for a machine, as a machine, without creative input on the process, without automation and technological advancement, to the point where it seems like modern slavery. They then decide spontaneously to erupt in their work place and leave altogether. This, we think, is actually wise.

Money is not as important as happiness, we think. We know this and many of us continually ingore this fact. As a result we are not happy, but at least we have financial security! What good is this security when we have no security on our own happiness? The other slogan i've devised for my own experiences in this matter is to "Do What You Love, Live Your Dream." Many of us humans in America have dreams to become a rockstar, supermodel, diva, extragavantly rich business owner, etc. etc. These are not real Dreams; they are the product of Psychotronic Warfare used to keep you Enslaved at Your Jobs. What you really want to do, you must Uncover, Now! In this way, we must truly analyze our capabilities and talents, and use them to the maximum achievement.
