| If you feel the current medication isn't working... (Questions)
My sister is currently on Serezone (I dont even know what this does), Imiprimine (I do not like this one, it makes her sleep a LOT AND I don't think it works, if it does, it doesn't work "right") and adderall (to keep her "awake"). She still swings horribley... She is never overly happy. If anything, she is "OK". She's been diagnoised by 2 different doctors (one was at the Virginia Mason Clinic in Seattle and one doctor here locally). And of course on "bad" days she sleeps for days and/or is very cranky/mean. However her current doctor doesn't think she is bi-polar How is one diagnoised bi-polar? What kinds of tests do they do or how do they know? (or will not treat her for it. Nor will he give her anxiety meds which she deseperately needs... she has horrid attacks. I am going in with her on the 21st to see about getting some kind of a med change. When my mom said the Imiprimine wasn't working for her, he just upped her dose, twice (my mom doesn't need it, and went off of it and feels better now then ever). Im worried he is just going to up my sister's dose (and it's bad enough now). I was talking to my coworker and she said the #1 problem of imiprimine is SLEEPING, they use it for a muscle relaxor!?! She is worse now then she's ever been. If she is bi-polar, will this imiprimine work? |

Lachesis, I have never heard of imiprimine and I thought I had heard of them all since my son is schizophrenic and I am constantly researching everything. I dont understand why your sisters doc wont give her something for anxiety. I became so anxious that I was starting to vomit at night. I couldnt do the sleeping all day thing because I have to work to take care of my family. My stress level was sky high. My pdoc gave me Klonapin which has helped alot. Seems like there should be more they can do for her. I wish you the best and good luck. Keep us posted. Blessings, Sidney |
