| A Positive Thread
I am borrowing this idea from another board. The idea is to post something positive about somebody on this board. It could be the person before you or even yourself. I'll start it off. Don W

Today something really is positive is that I am going through a healing stage and I have made another friend or two here at SR, people that even don't judge me for my sense of humor maybe because we are right where we need to be I donno, but I am very happy tonight regarless and am very grateful for the on line meeting that we have had tonight. Love Vic

EEEEP!!! Too many people to mention and if I try to start I know I'll forget someone! So I'm gonna make it a thank you for 'stuff' to everyone. Thank you stranger or friend for the smile. Thank you for giving the time to hear someone. Thank you for trying to understand. Thank you for telling me I dropped something. Thanks for reading a post and caring. Thanks for the effort wanting to know how to help. Thanks for all the times you've thought of someone you never met but you hold a part of their story in your heart and care. Thanks for the good idea. Thanks for the confidence you bring out when you praise a strength. Thanks for wanting kindness on here. Thanks for gentleness - the biggest sign of thinking something is precious. Thank you to everyone for every smile, sweet, penny, or biccy they ever gave a kid - you never know when it was needed most. Thank you for defending people you don't even know. Thank you Jon for SR and all the mods for making it possible. |

I like how we are seeing new names lately. This is a place where people are always welcome and we make them feel welcome. Many cases this is the only place people have to vent and be heard. Don W

If you're reading this you've made it through another day you thought you couldn't. Another day is like another chance. Another chance increases the odds. All of a sudden, recovery isn't odd.

Wow... Jenna, you have a way of including me, just when I think no one cares (pity party) there you are...always... Tim, well, as you know I owe you big- perhaps dinner??? Just a short drive to our house eh? You help keep me grounded...I am forever grateful to you.... Vic, you always make me smile when I am just about to pull out my hair...a silly sense of humor grabs me everytime.... thanks for just being YOU.... Don, kindred in spirit and always there with the truth...and what works... honesty is your policy and it shows in every word you write... and everyone else.... thanks for letting me go thru my stuff....

I like the way everyone is starting to use the tools here on all the Mental Health Boards. there was a time after MG left that there was very little activity. No matter how good at building you are, left in the tool box, the tools just rust away. You can't even order one of those prefab houses/lifes. Would you like an example of your progress? Scroll back and compare the difference in times on posts before you got active and after. I did this, sometimes there were weeks between my posts and others. Now there are sometimes only minutes or, at most hours. I can't speak for Wolf but, I believe she is happy that you've helped us bring these boards back to life. Everyone of you are a part of this new life, this new beginning. And I thank you all. My own recovery has grown so much in the past few weeks. I don't know about you but, my brain is like a toy. If I don't keep playing with it, I forget how fun and amazing it is. The only thing that stops it, is my imagination. Unlike all these new toys that play by themselves, mine is old fashion. I can pretend I'm anything, and for that moment I am. Even pretending to be a bad guy, I must remember it's just for a moment if I choose. Have you ever thought of our issues in that way? Maybe, we need to take our brains for more walks, so as to see the outside world. We are infact doing that here at SR. And I feel positive there is beauty right around the bend for us all. See yourself as happy no matter your issues today. In fact, I have an idea. Captain America requests that someone starts a "Happy Thread". Each day we can add something we are happy about. Sometimes "Happy" is just being there.

I always feel positive when reading the time zones of everyones post. Some have finished their day, some are starting. Me? I'm still in today, and it fits marvelous.

I love the way support seems to be the number one priority on SR... I called to check on someone today and they actually called me back just to say they were doing just fine.... The trust we learn here is amazing....

Views are the number of people that checked out a particular thread. It is next to the replys. For example people have checked to see this thread about 340 times. This is why replys can be misleading. Many people are intrested but, haven't built up courage to reply. It looks to me Amy that people check everyday to get a positive spin. And, of course that is very positive for us also. Beats the heck out of times we thought nobody cared what we thought.
