First, drugs aren't always the answer ... although we all know they can be a great help sometimes. ![]() I'm not the person to make judgements about whether or not taking a drug should be considered a disability, but here's some info from my Pharmacist friend ... Next time you go to your doctor, mention Depacote. It doesn't have as many side-effects as Lithium. Hope this helps. ------------------ Chad Colbert chad@helpdepression.com http://www.helpdepression.com/ |

John and I usually agree, but not here. What's much more important than suggesting a drug is having clear, honest communication with your doctor. keeping a log of symptoms, sleeping and eating habits, mood swing etc. will go a long way towards helping your doctor decide what is best for you. And never compare your meds OR symptoms to anyone elses-there simply is nothing to compare to. Depakote was terrible for me, as was 5-6 other drugs. Eventaully I was placed on Lithium, and have remained episode and hospital free ever since.(Over 3 years). But that is my story, and yours could be exactly the opposite. Take the time to find a doctor you can build a relationship with; you'll be just fine... ------------------
