| Remeron
Hi there, can anyone tell me if they have any experience with remeron or its generic Mirtazapine? I am on it, I lowered my dose from 15 mgs. down to about 4 mgs. by spliting them. I was seeing things, sleeping all day(I take at night though) HUNGRY all the time, and feeling like my arms ande legs weigh 1000 lbs. all day long. This is weird. I don't know if I can handle this. I can finally sleep though, I wasn't able to sleep well at all before I started it. If anyone has had any experience with this, please let me know, I have been through so many anti-depressants, costing me so much, and throwing them out because they have terrible effects

I started with 7mg at night and slept and felt sick for the first 4 or 5 days. Then after 7 days I went up to 15mg. I felt sleepy again. Now I feel fine and sleep well. It slowly started helping with the depression also. I still feel hungry all the time though. I don't think that's going to go away. I've tried most anti-depressants and this is the first I've found that works for me. I think I've been taking it for about 3 months. It felt a little like having the flu at first. Give a chance before you decide. You will feel bad again when you increase it. I would talk to your doctor about the dose your taking. I don't think that's a therapeutic level.

Thanks so much for your experience. I think I will try and giv eit a chance to work. I have only been on it for 4 days. I am to quick to quit when it doesn't feel right. To bad I wasn't like that with my DOC, that had me sick all of the time. I know all people react differently to meds, but it does help to hear others experience, so thanks again.

It is important to be aware of any symptoms/side-effects you are having. Though on the other hand, these things take time, and you might need to ride out a storm of a few days before your body adjusts. I'm not as familiar with the specific med, so I can't speak to that. I did do a quick rx look up, and all of the side-effects you are describing are known side-effects. I wish you the best of luck, and let us know how it goes over the next few days/week. -pedagogue

Thanks so much for the input. I talked about it in my intensive outpatient program today. The counselor suggested I call the doctor who prescribed the med for me. She thinks with the agitation, almost rage I have been feeling, that it is not a good medication for me. Sooo, I guess it's back on the medication merry-ro-round for me. I hate, trying to find the right meds. for me. That work for me. Thanks for looking it up for me. I appreciate it. Luv, Becky
