I was remembering when I was little and was excited for months ahead of time. Now I try to forget it exists and would like to go to bed for the rest of the week. I am going to make up some new holiday traditions devoted to Bah-Humbug Grinchmas and try to poke fun at it. But being grinchy...well, it is not in my spirit right now. Let's see,,, the menu starts with liver and onions (I love it, but most people gag) &...

LOLOL I love this post My Grinchmas tradition is to eat Chinese food and ignore all those annoying flashing lights and "ho ho ho"ing. Liver and onions, ice water, and spinach sounds good to me. I like green peppers in my liver and onions

Help me out with dessert, this was all sounding too yummy to me. I got to thinking decaf and a baked brie...but most people like that. Had to have the pickled beets for color, y'know...and the point was to make somebody go YUK!! Is there a YUK dessert?

Rice pudding....YUM!!! I have heard of blood pudding....scares me. Live, you are cracking me up - and you turned my stomach with the beets - OMG I hate them. How about fish soup for an apetizer...whole head fish soup, eyes and all (My mother in law makes it, the first time I asked what that round thing in my bowl was and was told it was the eye....was the last time I ever ate that)

Oh, that's the spirit, Paulie, that's an award winning first course. Ahhh, blood sausage,...bet I could slip it by you before you knew what you had! Ha. Comes in several forms, but I know where to buy it so it looks like a soft spread pastrami, kind of cajun seasoned, smells real good spreads on ritz crackers. In that tray of munchies for snack on this 'til mealtime. I have seen it made on the farm and I almost slipped and had one and went....wait a minute, I know what this is!!!!

There's this little fried chicken store where I live and growing up my family would always buy fried chicken, gizzards and livers. I grew up on them, and like Paulie, didn't know what I was eating until in my teens. Once I was asking how you can tell the difference in the two and I picked one up and said, "What's this?" IT WAS A FRIED CHICKEN HEART!!! And yes, some of my family does eat them on occasion.... My grandma also told me that when she was little, she grew up eating chicken feet! OMG!! True story! (Both sides of my family were really poor). My grandma said she liked them. Both my grandparents still eat buttermilk and crackers. My aunt likes crawdad's (crayfish). Pickeled pigs feet and pickeled eggs- I've seen them myself in the grocery store I use to work at in high school! Thankfully, no one in my family ever has eaten pig feet. Yuck.

EEEWWW yuck. My parents and grandparents both grew up like that. My mom and dad used to tell me that every part of the chicken was used. When I was in jr high my dad and I went to the Aczores and brought my grandma back here. She wanted chickens, my dad got her some chickens. One day I went out side and there she was with and ax whackiing the chickens head off right in my back yard. :fright She only last a little less than 2 years I think and back she went, she couldn't take it here in America LOL. Yes Live, my H eats blood sausage, his mom makes it herself

One year, I went to the butcher shop and asked for pig's feet and an assortment of the gross things for my Granny for Christmas. He laughed and fixed me right up. We took her a cooler full of YUKs. She loved it.! Mt ex-boyfriend liked to eat squirrel jaws and the fins off the fresh caught fish. His mom ate chicken feet too. Ummm. I am snacking on fresh cherries and figs...and hating to ruin my image here, but I am looking for my prettiest dress to go to Christmas eve mass. SHHHHH.

Yeah, it was fun joking, but in truth, I have the finest nut pie, the best cheese, primo coffee and yes, a fine chocolate liquor. And yes, fresh fruits, cherries and figs. I found out things are a bit different here, I will be putting on my finest for church tomorrow. The days are switched around. Love, love, love.... live
