| I'm not sure what the hell is happening...
I just started taking Trileptal for bipolar, and up until the last couple of days it was working fine. I just went into a complete rage, throwing things, saying really cruel stuff, and it was like the old days, i can't seem to stop the rage in me. How the hell did I ever live like this? I look back over the last few days and can recognize the manic signs, but I didn't think about it at the time. I've been drinking on a regular basis the last week, could that have an affect on my medicine? How can I make it stop? My boyfriend got really mad and isn't even staying here tonight, so I'm going to be all alone, which seems terrifying at the moment. Oh god, I forgot how awful this feels. My face is flushed I'm so upset. Is there anything I can do to stop this?

Lisa, Can you call the doctor on call? If you're feeling this out-of-control, you may want to get help ASAP. And yes, the drinking can keep your medicine from working as well as it could. Feel free to PM me if you like, OK? Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie (I'm a girl!) Z.

i am bipolar and taking lithium for it. drinking while taking any medication is a bad idea to start off with. your medication will not work properly while you drink and it takes a while for the medication to fully work when you start taking it anyways. i suggest you lay low on the drinking or stop taking your pills. actually, i would call your doctor before discontinuing the medication. just be careful because that is dangerous stuff. trust me, i know. seana |
