| Feeling low? I find smelling good helps me alot. And it's so simple. Put something nice in a hot bath. Or use a sweet cleanser. Or rub scented lotion all over. Or spritz on some cologne. Or all of the above! Below are some of my current favorites. There are also some discontinued items I would love to find. What do YOU like? —SoftSoap Vanilla Brown Sugar —Lavender —Sandalwood —Jasmine —Elige by Mary Kay —Dark Fire (tanning lotion) by Australian Gold —Secret Rapture (tanning lotion) by Designer Skin (Warm Vanilla Sugar) —Love's Rain Scent That's enough for now. Except for men I like Drakkar Noir. teehee OK, I'll stop. Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie

I love Vanilla/Lavender bath soap etc. By Bath and Body Works Not only did it smell good, it was calming, I can't find it anymore, but I've found I like just plain Lavender almost as much I'm also a big Sandalwood fan.

Vanilla calms me, cheers me up and just generally makes me feel better. I have vanilla candles, bubble bath and cologne. I'm finally learning to use this fragrance whenever I need to! Maggie

OK, Ann/Moot, looks like they could still make some dough on that vanilla/lavender combo. Splendra's in for lavender, Maggie's in for vanilla and you and I like both. splendra, What is Melissa? An herb, right, but how does it smell? And is Angel a perfume; I'm not familiar with it except that Designer Skin has an after-tan moisturizer called Angel. Maggie, Yeah, I also have Sugar Vanilla lotion and Vanilla body spray. Additions: —Worship (tanning lotion) by Designer Skin (coconut/lime) —Love's Baby Soft —Gardenia Speaking of all this, it's time for my bath. Whoohoo! Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie

How scents affect our senses can be very powerful. Whenever I smell new leather and certain fabrics brings me back to those first days in bootcamp when we were being issued our new boots and fatigues. perfumes and oils were used through out the past to cover up bad odors due to all sorts of yucky stuff. I could never forget that new car smell when we get into that brand new car. or what the smell of perfume of a beautiful women brings out in me. My favorite is tea tree essential oil. I put a few drops on a cotton ball, its brings to me such a cleansing and purifying feeling. Others I enjoy depending on my mood. My sister in law turned me on to aroma therapy. Though I am a man I still find it to be enjoyable when I am able to sit back, close my eyes and do the visualizing. I am a dedicated yogi too and the guys at work make fun of me but I don"t care. I can't say more of how benefical it is for my depression. H |

Last night I put on April Fields after my bath. Is that supposed to be comparable to Abril? 'Cause it ain't! My mom has some Abril (Spanish for April) and THAT'S nice stuff. I got the April Fields when I couldn't find Abril and I can't say that I care for it too much. More later... Love, Eddie

Another smelly product that cheers me up is "Primrose Tangle-Go". The main smelly stuff in it is Lavender oil and Primrose oil. I might like it just because I enjoy having my hair smelling nice. Hadenuff...... I completely agree with you!

My husband's sponsor gave me some lilies for my/our 2-year recovery birthday. They scent the whole kitchen! I forgot about just flowers, although I did mention jasmine and lavender, I think. Carnations are nice, as are roses, of course. Tea olive is the best in October! I wish somebody made that in a bottle. Another neat sensory thing I've gotten into lately is skin sensation. Hot and cold. I love the tingling tanning lotions and I like to add peppermint oil to lotion for an icy effect. Neat, huh? Well, it's late and I'm afraid I'm babbling a bit. See y'all later! Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie :rose

Just bought some new candle today. Cinnamon, christmas tree, nutmeg/cider. Lily of the Valley, Lilac, and Honeysuckle when in bloom are my favorites. Candles don't do them justice *LOL*

Ah, yes, kitchen smells! I guess Tutti Dulci means "all sweets" in Italian. Chocolate, vanilla, coconut, brown sugar, and I believe Creme Brulee' is a caramel-type affair, right? Is that cocoa lotion as in cocoa butter or as in chocolate? There are candles in my bathroom, but I never light them. I should try that some time, huh? Did I mention I got some vanilla bubble bath? Oh, and my latest discovery is Swedish Beauty's Amaretto tanning lotion, but I'm afraid it's being discontinued. I'll have to check on that. I went around smelling myself all day and into the next after I used that! Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie

best, We must have been typing at the same time. I was going to mention honeysuckle when I was listing flowers! Did I not? Well, I should've. I'm getting messages about trying the candle thing it seems. I'm just afraid they'd create even more dust and soot than I already have to deal with from smoking in the house. I think I'll stick with the toiletries. LOL. —EZ

Thanks, WT4M! I just find the rooms we smoke in get dustier faster, but that could also be from the dogs bringing in dirt, too. My sponsor gave me a bunch of scented candles for Christmas/anniversary and I used the cinnamon one today for our (late) Christmas dinner. It didn't make much scent, but I don't think it was a "quality" scented candle. I'll have to check out some other kinds or something. I opened the gift box of Love's fragrances (and lip gloss!) that I got for my husband to give me. It has Love's Baby Soft, Berry Blue (which smells like fruity bubble gum), Sheer Petals, and Vanilla Pop. I already like the Baby Soft and I think I'll like the Vanilla Pop, although I haven't worn it yet. The Sheer Petals was weak, didn't last at all. Anybody else get any good smelly stuff? Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie

Hi Eddie! I like this thread, learning a lot about new fragrances...a soft spot for me. I got a Bath and Body Works "Moonlight Path" Lavendar fragrance cream and gel, oh it is so nice. We have a overly-fragrant Christmas tree this year and I am enjoying the scent of the pine right now which is one of my all time favorite scents. Someone gave my husband a bayberry candle in a half (empty) coconut shell and it smells terrific. Fragrances also cheer me up and aromatherapy is an awesome way to relax...absolutely! Peace love and hugs to you too! Wolfstarr

I can almost smell the happiness!!! Vanilla....warm yummy sweet almond oils....Sometimes I'll put a drop of the oils right on a light bulb for a cheapo incense rush.... The sense of smell is supposed to be the most primal...and most ingrained in your memory.... I still associate cloves with the strangest of holiday images from my childhood.... You know though.....being a smoker and KNOWING that my sense of smell is really reduced.....makes me wonder what I must be missing.... ....running off to take a FRAGRANT bubble bath before bed.... Thanks Eddie for the indulgent distraction.... |

(((Wolfstarr))), Long time, no see! I'm getting the idea I need to check out Bath & Body Works. Cream and gel, huh? Someone at a women's Christmas party I went to was talking about some old Coty fragrances that came as a balm. Does anybody currently make anything like that? Ah, yes, the Christmas tree! And I had totally forgotten wonderful bayberry. We ALWAYS have a live tree rather than a cut one and we usually plant it outside afterwards. I imagine the ones with roots are more fragrant even than the cut natural ones, but I'm probably just biased. LOL. (((KK))) Here in Winston, that's Krispy Kreme, HOT DOUGHNUTS NOW, that's a great smell, too. I had forgotten about putting oils on lightbulbs, too. You all are great for reminding me of all these cool things. Smoking. I quit for over six months of this year and now that I've restarted, I can barely taste anything (which is almost a GOOD thing in a way) and smell is diminished, too. Maybe that's why my new perfumes seem so "weak." And you're welcome for the distraction! Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie :liar (I just put this here 'cause of the nose.)
