TartBurners.com is a great place to get good-smelling stuff. My mom got me a potpourri simmerer for Christmas, but I picked out and bought the stuff to go in it. So far I have tried two wax tarts, one Orange & Clove, and the other "Evergreen Frost." Both are very nice.

And in addition to the White Shoulders gift set I ended up with, I also bought myself a Sweet Honesty gift set and a Sunrise aromatherapy set. These are both discontinued fragrances from Avon that I found on ebay. I'm really digging the Sweet Honesty. My thanks go out to whoever mentioned it on here. I think it was Wolfstarr.

Ostensibly for my husband, I bought 3 vanilla-scented soaps, too. AND, I got some scented candles from a family friend. Their fragrance is called "Zen." I think it's heavy on patchouli, but I'm not sure. So, I am really stocked up, huh? Anybody else get anything wonderful-smelling for Christmas?

Love and hugs,
Eddie

I've now also tried "Rainwater" and "Chocolate Truffles" wax potpourris. They're very nice, too, although the Rainwater one was a bit strong. I'm going with the Evergreen Frost today. Really enjoying the new simmerer in case you hadn't noticed. lol.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

my favourite scent is by Geurlain, its a traditional french perfumery using all natural ingrediants, very rare today within the industry. My favourite scent is by Geurlain and its called: L'Instant. it means "the instant" in french. i have the whole set: perfume, lotion, and body wash. i wish they offered body powder and bubble bath too. (i also like Chanel No.5, and Chanel's Mademoiselle. i like anything french. i like the classic french colour combination: champagne, powder pink, and black.)

Thank you for sharing, Suger, and WELCOME to the thread!!

Tonight I'm simmering Vanilla Coffee scented soy wax beads. It's a mild, but cozy fragrance. I'm going to have to get some more tea lights now. I'm down to one. I'm really getting into this wax potpourri stuff!

Love and hugs,
Eddie

eddie,
thankyou very much for the nice welcome (finally someone is being nice to me here. i guess this is where i will hang out from now on, where im wanted and appreciated--im being called all kind of things like "redneck", and someone who doesnt get it, and "why" am i on SR--and all sorts of complete garbage). anyway. whatever.

i have never tried soy wax beads or seen that item b4--but ill bet its very moisturizing--i drink a lot of soy instead of milk (bc: i dont like how milk 'smells' on people's breath and bo the next day--blech!)--and my favourite soy flavour issss: VANILLA!!! ahahah. i have a scented vanilla candle too. i like rose, too, i used to buy the essences at the healthfoodstore, i used to wear essence of rose when i couldnt afford french perfume. right now my favourite colours are the french colours: powder pink and champagne with black. oh i said that b4. do you match your candles to your favourite colours?

Who is being unwelcoming around here? Let me at 'em!! I hate to hear that. But at least you realize it is garbage. Keep coming back, Suger, and keep sharing!!

I have to run now, so I'll answer your post more later. I just couldn't let that first part go without a response. Have a great good-smelling day!! LOL.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

My favorite smell is the smell of fresh country air in the spring time when everything is in bloom. There is nothing about a long ride in the country with the windows down and my hair blowing in the wind. That is of course, unless I come across a skunk. lol Oh yeh and rain nothin smells better than rain.

WELCOME to the thread, princess!! Thank you for sharing!! Have you ever smelled Love's Rain Scent? It's very nice, especially if you already love the smell of rain.

I got some more tea lights finally. Now the only fragrance I got that I haven't tried is Sweet Magnolia. I hope it is more like magnolia than the gardenia was like gardenias.

Meeting time! Have to run.
Love and hugs,
Eddie

Thanks Eddie for the indulgent distraction....
~ I love my snout that God graced us with. I find that I do enjoy smelling different fragrances in different places and on different people. I can think of certain places and when i'm not there and its the smell that you can almost recreate that excites the emotions inside ~

~ I think of the scent of my ex-girlfriends apartment (even the I despised it then) now its like thats what i miss are can make most vivid when I remember the times there with her. I often just feel like I would give anyting to just be there and smell that again ~

~ I also noticed that after you are away from someone you love you start to have a scent come up when you think of them. Its not the perfume (although I enjoy these fragrances and candles, etc..) Its their natural unique body scent. You never seem to notice it until you are apart for awhile. Its been that way with all my ex girlfriends ~

~ I still can smell her on my comforter blanket still, unless I associate the comforter's smell with her. Nonetheless I have refused to wash it. It makes me a sadhappy laying my face into it. I gues I need to move on, its just too much right now to lose that ~

~ I find that scents are are really inspiring to me, and I love writing and poetry that uses them because it really puts you there ~

~ Its also strange how anything that you went through that was very emotional, seems to leave the scent of it with you forever. The anxiety of the first day of school, the highmindedness I had in college - Its like I can still smeel each class room and dorm room, The bonding of a team -I actually think of the stench of sweat and football pads and the musty locker room with pleasure. ~

~ The smell of fear, it almost creates itself!!! I especially love the smells of the new seasons, it doesn't matter which one (it's like an anticipation of change after months and hoping for something new to come) ~

~ Anyway, I always talk about this because its like you smell life itself and realize the emotions you never knew were there. It can really brighten you up. I used write poetry using it, but I wasn't clever enough and I ended up just becoming redundant. Wallace Stevens is excellent with this if anybody might be interested in that ~

Thank you so much for posting, Bradley, and for sharing with us!! I like what you said about people's smells and how they hold such intense memories. I remember hanging onto a guy's jacket and sleeping with it 'cause it smelled like him. "Sadhappy" is a great word for it.

Love and hugs,
Eddie

Mmmm...Avon Sunrise
Shower Gel!!

Unfortunately, Avon has retired this fragrance, but I found a set with the shower gel, lotion, and cologne spray on eBay. One of my Christmas presents to myself. LOL.

Love and hugs,
Eddie
