On the subject of fragrances, if you go to tanning beds and smoking pot was ever your thing, you may want to avoid Australian Gold's Blazin' tanning lotion. It smells like weed! I've been burning this "Stress Relief" scented candle my sponsor gave me for Christmas 2003 and I like it! It helps with the tobacco smoke smell for one big thing. Maybe I'll melt what's left and put a new wick in it. I may get into this candle thing yet! Peace, love, and hugs, Eddie

Dan, Yeah, citrus is good. I think I mentioned Love's Fresh Lemon. Orange is a little sweet for me. Lemon and lime are my preferences. Glad to see some guys on the thread! Peace, love, and vanilla, Eddie

I had forgotten until tonight, fragrances can also calm and soothe. I was making some chamomile tea, when I remembered I used to have a "sleep pillow" my mom made for me. It had chamomile, lavender, hops, and I don't know what else in it. I used to set it right in front of my nose on my regular pillow and it was very soothing to smell. —EZ

Salut Eddie I just caught this thread I love vanilla, lavender, orange and cinnamon mixed oils but my new favourite is amber my partner brought me a big lump of it back from Maroc it's creamy and you can put in with your clothes or rub a little on your skin etc. I'm going to check it out here where I live because I hadn't come across it before. She also brought some tea and I don't know what's in it but it's very calming, we have a African market in the next time at the week end so I am going to seek it out if I find what it's called I'll let ya know. Love indie

Indie, Thanks for picking up this thread again, and welcome! Do you mean vanilla, lavender, orange, and cinnamon mixed together? I can't imagine "creamy" amber. But I know a place that sells lumps of it so I will check that out, too. And do let us know what's in the tea. Love and hugs, Eddie

Yeah Eddie I meant a lump of amber the colour of it is creamy/yeallow. I use lavender and vanilla seperately but I mix the orange and cinnamon oil together. I put in on my wrists too so I can smell it all day. hugs and love indie

I've been tempted by some products that are Vanilla Jasmine, but I can't justify spending the money on them right now. Has anybody tried this combination? Orange & cinnamon are good together I know. But I bet vanilla and lavender would be good together, too, as well as separately. Love and hugs, Eddie

My latest thing is trying to find good-smelling flowers to have indoors, either live or cut. Any suggestions? Thanks! Love and hugs, Eddie :rose P.S. I also have some new favorite tanning lotion smells—Australian Gold's Promised and Designer Skin's Shameless. |

DangerousDan wrote "Hi EZ... My odor of choice... Citrus. Orange, specifically. It always calms me." Yeah, I used to love the smell of good things cooking and perfumes and now I seem to be oversensitive to them. The smell of garlic cooking which I used to like almost makes me sick now and my perfume that I liked for years-or when my roomate puts cologne on-and it's not gross or anything, but they both are so strong to me now-I don't even wear my own perfume. Anyway, my point is, is that one day I walked into the apartment and smelled something wonderful. It was a half a grapefruit cut, sitting on a plate on the counter-I could smell it from front door. But I really liked it. I love the smell of lilacs when they come out and I used to love all kinds of flowers, but even they are too strong for me. But, the grapefruit was cool. |

Hey guys - as a serious smoker & insomniac...I dig any calming scents, currently loving lavender.. I've been on quest for a good nights sleep for months..I read a great article on how lavender helps you calm down, relax and sleep, so me and hubby went to town! I'm lavendered up these days...when I am really wired, I'll scrub down with my lavender sugar scrub, then soak in the bath with lavender oil. I've evne got alittle can of (strong) lavender room spray, which I spray around bedtime. Not a miracle sleep aid, or anything, but it does relax me, and for once, my bedroom smells great!! I love this thread - I've made up a fragrence list - the "bath and body" store in town in having a huge sale, I can't wait to hit it now!! Much Love: SS

SS, Did I talk earlier on the thread about the aromatic "sleep pillow" I used to have? I think it was mostly hops, chamomile, and lavender. It smelled wonderful and I used to put it right under my nose to help me get to sleep. Love and hugs, Eddie

I may have mentioned this one earlier, but I really love a perfume called St. Moritz. Anybody familiar with it? Also, I am still seeking fragrant flowers to put inside if anyone has any suggestions. Thanks! Love and hugs, Eddie |

Eddie, like you I think Drakkar Noir is positively the nicest men's fragrance ever. Don't know what there is about it but it's got it.My favourite perfume is Diorissimo by Dior, a little hard to find these days but it's a lily of the valley kinda light smell and fresh not woofy. Also Alfred Sung body lotion is really nice, his original fragrance called Sung. I love scented candles too, but mostly citrus, and one I really like smells like gardenias. I'm not sure where you live, Eddie, but fresh cut roses always do it for me. Lilacs when they are in season, but they're all done now here. Lily's stink. Also, lavender is easy to grow and is nice to bring in. I like live lavender but not store bought lavendar sprays or fragrances. Also, I have some small red flowers, don't know what they're called, LOL, but they have a cinnamin smell, a little like carnations. Hugs Ann

Drakkar Noir...that is what I use to wear. I switched to "Weekend" by Burberry's of London. I am in search of a new cologne....so if anyone wants to make any suggestions...i'm game! (It can't be 'popular'. I prefer lesser known/used colognes.)

Thanks for posting, Ann!! I actually bought a gardenia for the house, but I can't seem to get it to bloom again. The lavender may be a good idea, though. I may get some jasmine, too. I think I get enough light in here when the leaves are down to keep it alive. LOL. The lilacs were nice, but they are through here also. Thanks again for the tips! Love and hugs, Eddie |

Eddie, are these outdoor flowers you want to bring in, or something you want to grow indoors? For indoor growing there is a small orange tree thing, I'll see if I can find one to show you. I've never grown it myself but one of my friends had one and it smelled really nice. Hugs Ann
