drowning - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

well....where do i start? severely depressed, angry, frustrated and lonely. husband trapped in crack and alcohol addiction. worried about children. no friends or family here(new to area). zoloft like drinking water. not sleeping, eating.....nothing at all or like a pig. half the time i puke it up when i do eat, or it gets stuck in my throat and.... :titanic ....!lost insurance so no doctor, no refills on zoloft.

Re docs...... have you checked with the County or one of the lower cost clinics? I don't have insurance and it turns out that I can be seen at a for free clinic for both pdoc and therapist (I am a rape survivor and am under a grant). And my pdoc gives me samples of medication. Even if you can't be seen for free, you might be able to pay $10 or so. I've always been able to find a funded clinic for about $10.

Are you involved in NarAnon or Al Anon (the Family and Friends forum here)? They would be able to help you take care of yourself and cope with your husband. Cuz that's all you can do with an addict..... take care of yourself.

you guys are great!!! never thought about the clinics. gotta look-n-see. tomorrow!!!!!! yes i'm involved in anon and alanon forums. finding great info., great inspiration, and amazing people with such big hearts. the communication is helping loads!! hi everybody just hanging in not doin very well panic attacks kickin my rear i'll think i'm gonna level off and my addict acts up i am looking for a lawyer looks like divorce only option :lumpy

Dear JML,

Regarding clinics, have you considered a mental health clinic. In our state (WA) we have clinics where you can walk in and get help. My sister walked in on her own and was evaluated the next day. They diagnosed her with severe depression and got her on state medical (fully paid), food stamps, and cash (for rent). She is doing so much better. I hope your state has something similar. My sis will be on it for at least 6 months and maybe 3 months more if her counselor thinks she still needs it.
