Paxil CR and my detox

Hi all,
I'm on day 6 right now, and before I quit drinking, I began taking Paxil CR a few months ago to treat several anxiety disorders and depression. Now that I'm clean, I've found that I'm completely exhausted. I slept 12 hours last night and still feel like I could sleep for 12 more. I don't know if my extreme tiredness is a result of me still detoxing, or if it's somehow related to my meds. I'm a little scared right now that something bad is going to happen to me health-wise. But I'm not about to quit taking my meds cold turkey, because that might kill me. Did anyone else have the problem of extreme tiredness like me? Is this something I should be worried about?

Congradulations on Day 6!

All I have for you is to tell you that meds don't work when drinking, as I'm sure you know. Or they interact badly.

As far as detoxing vs psych meds..... what does your doctor (preferably psychiatrist!) have to say?

When I quit drinking, I can't say whether or not I had extreme tiredness cuz I was curled up suicidal for a month.

Good for you! My doc told me to only change one thing at a time. And at the time I was changing drinking habits. Lush to abstinance LOL

I'd go post over at Newcomers, AA, or Alcoholism to ask your more specific questions about detoxing.
