Yes, Lithium is a metal and it is in batteries I don't know how much you are taking. Normally, 600 mg's a day is a starting dose, but some docs start at 300 mg's. I am only on 150 mg's and the only side effect I have is thirst. Drink lots of water, no caffeine, and stay low on sugar. Work close with the doc to monitor blood levels of the lithium. It is a good, safe product for Bipolar. Not really a drug, it is a metal/sodium combo
