~Timeless Beauty~

Thought of this idea to help us in coping and combating depression and the stresses of daily life. A thread about ~Timeless Beauties~..those moments that the heart sees much more clearly then the 'eye'.........the truly beautiful things and moments of our lives that we so often overlook or rush past in our illusion that more is better and in a hurry means we have a 'life' hah!! I say slow down...don't just smell the roses! Oh no..share some roses, pass them around..tell everyone about the precious moments that touch your heart, makes the day bearable, brings on sweet nostalgia. Maybe they can find some stress relief too!

~Timeless Beauty~

1. Fresh cut flowers from the backyard, arranged in every room of the house!!

2. Your children making a wonderful mess of the cookies and brownies you made!(Big beauty for me..breakthrough moment in fact..when I looked past the 'mess'...to the 'moment'..the sharing with my babies. I can bo so neurotic about my house! These momenst really help with that)

3. My fatcat Louie meowing pitifully in the AM, waking me with a tap-tap against the cheek.

4. The smell of old books.............I absolutely LOVE it...Delicious!!!!!!

5. Finding an apology note from hubby.....writtten with so much love..you just have to forgive him!!!

The fresh smell of Mother Earth after a rain.................Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Okay, will post some each day( or whenever I can...)

What are YOUR Timeless Beauties??

My favorite is the first time I ever saw the face of my child wow now that was a real high...

The most important one was accepting Jesus as my savior when I was 8 yrs old I still get tears in my eyes when I think back to the time when I was a desparte little girl living in active addition with both parents and feeling like it was all my fault and Jesus gave me hope, courage and, faith even then and even now....

Something extremely beautiful to me is that now I am clean and sober I can identify intense emotions, feel them through and come to terms with them...without a pill or drink to numb the rage and fear. Beautiful!!!

This is a silly one but have any of you seen breakfast at tiffany's? I just love the scene at the end where they kiss in the rain. *sigh* :raincloud

You know..I have never watched that movie...think I will rent it this weekend.

And it is not silly!! Wherever I can find beauty or reflect on something romantic....I think it is a great healer to embrace all kinds of beauty...everywhere!

You know that I really think is timeless beauty? YOU! No really you and all the other people on this board. Taking the time to give support and kind words even while they are going through the same or worse circumstances. I'm overwhelmed every time I come here.

How are things with you? You sound wonderful!!!!! So good!!!!!!!!!!! How is the family life going i.e (mother) I put mine in the hospital 2 months ago.....finally. I thought things were bad before?! They only got worse. She had the audacity to call children and family services on me and make up these outlandish stories. I was investigated, and it turned on her real quick, she might be facing felony charges for making false allegations. HA HA on her!!
Things are good otherwise. I miss talking with you.

Let me know how you are!!

Love,
Amanda

(((((Amanda)))))) I have missed you!! Sooo good to hear from you. Sorry to hear about the trouble with your mother. Even though we know what they are capable of..it doesn't make it any easier.((((((((((Huge Hugs))))))). Things are going okay with my mother right now..but that nagging feeling of when are they going to nut up is hard to quell.Just taking it day by day right now with her.

Hope to see ya around more!! I am still clean and loving every minute of it! I am very blessed.

Timeless Beauty:

Smelling the dew in the morning off the grass and hearing the crickets chrip at night.
Taking a nap in the middle of the day, while in the distance you listen to the sound of a lawn mower plowing away. Having my sons back in my life, after 5 years of drinking and drugging and denying them thier mother. Being clean and sober for over 2 years now.

I've never had any children of my own, so I will say that not only being in the delivery room and watching my beautiful nephew be born, but I was the very first one to hold him.... even before his mother. That is my favorite Timeless Beauty ever.
