Thanks for posting this! Very insightful....I struggle with panic disorder...it almost seems unbearable at times...but slowly ever so slowly I am learning to manage.

Hi everyone. I'm actually not bp buy my mom is. She has panic attacks sometimes and the last time it happened while I was there and I had no idea what to do! Is there anything that a person that's around can do to help? All I did was hug her and hold her hand and try to get her to take deep breaths with me.....

Hi Sweeks
You did eveything right for your mom.
Sometimes when I feel anxious and panicky I call my husband and he comes and gets me and I just ride with along with him while works.
It really helps to get our minds off of all the crazy things that race through our heads.

Deep breathing is a great tool for anxiety...

Did you check out the sight I posted on the first post of this thread?

Do you practice Yoga? I suffer from anxiety and seems like it might help.

I did I actually emailed it to my mom too but she is.....resisting any treatment for her bp and her alcoholism right now....so I doubt she'll even look at it. *sigh* Thanks for your help and reassurance kel!
