| Countdown to 32.....
10 days...I'll be 32. I quit liking birthdays oh around 24 or so, just sounded wrong after that. I know I know, you'll all say I am so young! My whole life lies ahead of me! For that yes, now finally I am thankful, I just want to make the next 30 years better. I think there's a country sound about this. I don't want to keep messing up. I want to go out and have some fun, haven't been to a club in years, but don't want to drink either. What to do? Give me some suggestions, because I really don't know what to do with myself, I am usually so wound up on pills I clean house or just do whatever, but I want to start being kind to myself. Have a special day without feeling guilty......give me some ideas here. I know..get a life is at the top of your list for me! What do ya all do for your birthdays?

Get a massage and a facial. Treat yourself to a delicious meal at a great restaurant. Go to a hot tub. Spend the night in a nice hotel. Go the the beach if you live close. What would you tell a friend to do if they were in your shoes. You are so giving to others Tammi dear, give some of that special attention to yourself. HAPPY BIRTHDAY Juls

Tammie... If I were you, I'd buy myself a book of riddles, LOL! Seriously, what do you like? Make a list of ten things that you can realistically do for your B'day and tell us. And yes, you are a baby at 32 ~~big laughs~~! I'll come up with something....

Tammie, You´re so young! I envy you. I try to look 35, although I´m 45, because I spent my youth until 28 years of age in darkness and drugs and addiction. It´s like I never reached that age of 28, and that I started to become an adult from that age. That´s why I feel so young and want to look it! I´ll tell you what. If you were in Paris on your birthday, I would first take you to dinner at the Bouddha Bar, the most fashionable place in town. It´s a Mediterranian/Asian nightclub with huge Bouddha statue and palm trees. I would order Italian and Thai food combination and then take you upstairs to the bar - for tea! Asian tea. Then I would take you to the Japanese water bar near the Louvre and Palais-Royal. They have a huge fountain made of chocolate and special water to drink it with, from icebergs, 2000 years old and therefore totally pure. After that I would take you to a traditional French brasserie for the best dessert you´ve ever had and then we would dance till dawn in my favorite nightclub, an exotic place that used to be Turkish baths. How´s that for a party! Quote:

Dear 2stop, A birthday, eh? okay, here are some inexpensive and doable ideas: Make yourself a cake, a delicious one with real whipped cream for frosting. Invite a friend or two over to have a piece and have a small gift ready for each of them. Say it's to celebrate being alive. You'll floor em. Grab a camera and start taking pictures of the sky at various times of day. or pictures of trees, snow drifts, pretty, artsy things that are beautiful and soothing to look at. Use a whole roll just for your pleasure. Can you get reflexology? I love to have someone touch my feet! And my head! A scalp massage is nice too. So is a hot oil hair treatment. Mmmmm Write to someone who means something to you who you haven't connected with in years. A teacher, a neighbor, a classmate....and mail it. The response is your birthday present. Put good music on and pull out the watercolors. Without judging, paint whatever comes to mind. I think this is really fun (okay so I don't get out much!) truly though, if I do this in a meditative way, it can be very prayerful.... 32, eh? The best is yet to come love ya, mamabear

You guiys are the best, I swear..just reading your replies I feel better. My first birthday sober, hell the first time I am actually thinking I oughta get outta bed and do more than pop pills and clean the house,,,good grief..It's time to live!! Oh LIlya, the evening sounds so grand, I will look up these places on the net. Sometimes I put "luxury hotel" in my serach engine and just looka round at the virtual tours, I do it with real estate in other countries. Found some awesome places in Israel!! too bad Armaggeddon's about to get it on over there! LOL.....I swear.. Now Lilya, when you say French Brassiere...is not brassiere for bra? My mother always called her bra her 'brassiere', of course she's 50 some odd years late with her medication but.....LOL. Just wondering what it meant over there? Sounds fabulous! Even if it is a bra!!! Mamabear I love your idea about inviting a couple friends and having a gift and telling them it's to celebrate life! oh that is wonderful, I think I will do it with my family. And reflexology, so good to, I have been. I love you all, thank you for all the replies.........

Lilya, I had to reread your cyber party idea, OMG the fountain of chocolate..and an ice berg 2, 000 yrs old?? Wow, now that would be just amazing, I will make it to Paris one day...and evry other place on my list. Belize, Brazil, Italy, Russia, Africa, Japan, Thailand...hell every country...befor eI die....that's my goal! LOL...Have to see Switzerland and Austria, The Sound Of Music, ever since I first saw it, said I HAVE to go to Austria! So beautiful. My dad has pictures of the Alps when he was in the Army and travelled around. He has a story of Paris, his ID was stolen, the French police picked him up, took him underground to some room, tried to get him to admit to being a German spy!!! His company commander could not ID him properly over the phone! he was sweating I guess, then he swears it was an angel...a woman came into the room and led him out and to a taxi and he went back to his company......It may have been an angel, you never know.

Tammie, A Brassierie is a restaurant, or type of a restaurant, or maybe it means restaurant in French, LOL. There is a famous one in San Francisco "La Brasserie" that I've been to several times, and it was incredible. The food was so delicious. and the service was excellent. Juls

I was going to tell Tammie to go bowling and here everyone is indulging her with these wonderful ideas about facials, head massage, trips to the Alps, drinking from chocolate fountains, etc. If not bowling, I personally think that a trip to the aquarium would be a fine way to spend your 32'nd birthday!!!! Okay, so I'm not exactly the most imaginative person on the planet, LOL! Here in Brooklyn, we have the Coney Island Aquarium and the Beluga Whales and Walruses are so cute. My daughter now wants me to get her a whale for Christmas and build a special tank for it in my basement. The cute creature is about 25 feet long and weighs as much as a bus!!! Maybe a Walrus would be a better idea?

Well, while watching the Travel channel last night I saw where I want to go, it's in Western Australia, but hey! iT's my birthday! You can stand in the water and feed the dolphins!! I think it's called Monkey Mia, this place. Looks fabulous to me, but a bike ride thru Tuscany and the vineyards...sounds great as well, my husband is going to have to accept one of these new credit cards should be coming, now we've signed and bought the house..LOL........just kidding, that's all I need more debt, there's plenty of fun to be had for little or no money...it's just I am happiest when travelling, which is odd for a person with agoraphobia, but if I can keep moving I am all right. I love to fly! I just want to walk thru those plane windows out into the fluffy clouds....it's so beautiful. the kids and I flew into Pittsgurgh month before 9/11...but those terrorists are not going to stop me from having my travels!!Oh no sirreee!!! My husband did say next spring he will take me down by Harrisburg where they give skydiving lessons...I am terrified of heights, but have wanted to do this for a long time..I have known pilots when I worked at D/FW Airport that said they were scared to get up on there garage roof and fix it...but loved to fly...so I can't be THAT strange! LOL, well, maybe a little, but....... Love ya all!!!!!!!!! **hugs**

Tammie, Sounds like this birthday will be the biggest, the greatest, the most elegant and most fun you´ve ever had! Skydiving as well, vow! Brasserie is a form of restaurant where you sit at long tables and have a delicious meals. You sit close to the other guests. The chairs are gold plated and with red plush cushions. Lots of pictures in the Toulouse-Lautrec style. We´ve got some super ones, La Coupole, Brasserie Lipp, Train bleu - where all the passanger taking the Oriental train stopped for a meal before going to Venice and then on to Turkey. When I´m fifty, I´m going cruising on the Nile in Egypte. That decision I took when I was twelve and I have never changed my mind. At forty I danced at the banks of La Seine with feu d´artifice (firecrackers?) and forty people I had invited. We danced till dawn with the Eiffel tower all lit in the backround. I had anorchestra and a friend played Argentine Tango with accordéon. Then at dawn I cut the cake at the house I had rented for the occasion because it faced the river and my house was not big enough. I had never been happier. Afterwards a few of us went to Venice to extend our feast. We danced on the square dressed in fancy costumes. What fun! Quote:

I am a capricorn LOL, we're supposed to be really full of culture, well, I have the love for it, guess that counts.

WEll, At 5:29AM I turn 32...I have decide how I am going to spend my birthday, even though I don't have asitter for the kids and hubby left for work tonight....I am going to get ouit all my writing proiject files and write and draw to my hearts content...I asked the kids to please give me a few hours to do this, as they tons of movies and agreat backyard to play in. I just feel an overwhelming urge to write, that maybe my muse with be with me tomorrow, sitting on my shoulder guiding my pen, Words delight me, they ARE my muse...sometimes I just write down a word that I find interesting and start writing about it, not the dictionary version, the connotation, between the lines so to speak, I feel a book in me that has to come out......I just have so mnay started and am so disorganized. I bought myself a couple small birthday gifts while the kids were at the mall spending their gift certificates. One is a fridge magnet/wall sign combo says"I am too busy to be organized" Not very positive affirmation but found it cute, and bought a cat sign says welcome frinds, and another one says"Spoiled cat lives here, it's hanging beside my desk...so tomorrow I will be writing and exploring my creative side.....forgot to pick up some special paper, there's something about a uniue empty clear sheet of paper that gets me excited, I am crazy I know, but I Am Who I am, I like that song by Lara Fabian, I need to get that CD again, was stolen in TX.....that will be my last gift to myself, some nice music to listen too. Love you all, may not be on here much tomorrow, starting to feel like just hibernating with my thoughts..and getting it all out on paper. Thanks for all the ideas and suggestions, they were awesome....and Lilya, reading of your 'party' idea...well, it just makes me smile...sounds soo cool!! ***Big Hugs***

Tammi, Happy, Happy Birthday to you. I hope you get lots of creative writing done today. I like to draw, and I know that excited feeling of a blank piece of paper in front of you. It's good you are taking some time for yourself, and that your kids can amuse themselves for awhile. I am also not a very organized person, although I used to be. I don't know what happened LOL. Tammi, you are such a special person. You are so giving and have contributed so much to these boards. You respond to so many posts, I don't know how you do it, and take care of yourself too and your family too. These boards would not be the same without you, and I am so glad for being able to know you. I am not a person of many words, I never have been. You however, are very prolific in the writing department, and I feel sure you will be successful with you book and other projects. Juls

Happy, happy birthday, Tammie, May this year be filled with blessings and peace of mind. You are wonderful. I wish you the very best. love, Mamabear hey, have you tried writing a prayer/reflection book? It's something you could write in bits and pieces then gather and send off as a whole.

So, 2stop, here's another idea for you. (unsolicited, of course!) Have you ever tried reflections/ prayers for kids? There are many publishers looking for such stuff. I think you'd be great at it. You have kids which will give you a barometer, and you have life experience, and you have motivation. Whaddaya think? You may not get to be a millionaire but it can pay. Hmmmm? The sun is shining here and it should be a mild day. Hope you get out to see the PA sun. love, Mamabear

That is an excellent idea Mambear...I do not wish to be a millionaire, but I want to help a lot of people buy a home, everyone deserves a home, may join Habitat for Humanity, be good for the kids and my hubby and I to help out in that. I like your idea alot, I think that I will start working on that, I do have some childrens books started, even some of the illustrations, I am no artist, by any means,m but enjoy the creativity, really helps the stress. Oh It is beautiful here in Williamsport today too. have been out paying bills, sending late cards(oops!) and grocery shopping..Did pretty well, very limited panic/anxiety....I think I am making progress.....and it is so awesome to think I just might build a good life! have a career, contribute money to the household, have a checking account again, just be a good citizen you know? Not always hibernating and staying withdrawn. I love meeting people..............but have really been working thru some trust issues, this site has been a great stepping stone I feel for building f2f relationships. Hope you enjoy your day Mamabear...Love ya bunches!!!!!!

hello my dear 2stop Just wanted to say that each year I take 10 teams of 15 kids (different kids on each team) to Habitat for Humanity and it's a great experience. If you can hold a hammer, you can learn what needs to be done. the crew leaders are awesome retired guys that are very welcoming. Such a great thing Jimmy Carter started on our coast. love ya, mamabear

How awesome Mamabear! That is so cool you do that. I do believe I will get my family involved in this, I must teach my children while still young that volunteering, and giving of oneself...unconditionally, is the greatest gift, greatest investment to be found on the planet. ***Big Hugs*** Love yoo too!!!!:mj
