A break through

Some of you all know that I have been kind of struggling with depression and such... I went to this one fellow for three weeks. I felt uncomfortable the whole time and didn't accomplish much.

So called him this week and told him that I wanted to talk to someone else. Then I hit a major depression area this week and just wanted to die... So I started calling around and my boss reffered me to this lady from a psychologist he knew... So I went today! IT WAS ABSOLUTLY WONDERFUL! I loved it so much. I was able to talk about things to her that I have not even spoken about since they happened.

I didn't think therapy could be this rewarding. I don't think my life will ever be perfect but I think it is a step in the right direction! I really liked the fact that I would be saying something and she would go, "Stop." Then explain to me how what I said fit with something else... It was just cool!

Thanks so much for being there for me you all!! Ya'll really rock!!!!

LOVE YAS!!!!

Way to go, girl!

I tell you, I go once a year to a psychiatrist for a mental check-up, even when I´m not in therapy. My motto is that the mind needs looking after, just like our cars and bodies. We take them for a check-up, don´t we?

I´m so happy that you feel good about therapy. Now your recovery will be faster.

Love and light,

Lurkings,

I'm glad you went back. Now you can see there is a way out of depression. You'll have to dig your way out one scoop at a time. It won't happen overnight but your therapist will give you the shovel and tell you how to use it.

News like this is very gratifying for me. I've been through depression and believe there is a way back to a healthy life for all sufferers. I love to see other people see the hope in what is a seemingly hopeless situation. Depression for me was like wearing really dirty sunglasses, I saw the whole world differently and somewhat distorted.

Keep going back as much as you can for a while. You will need to build the basic skills to react to your feelings and events in life. Did you get a referal or a prescription for medication?

It really sounds like you are feeling better already. You'll be jamming on your guitar and having a good time doing it before you know it.

Keep us posted on your progress, we all care about you and want to help as much as we can.

Wood

Lurkings,

I am also glad to hear that you found a good therapist for yourself. More importantly, you advocated for yourself, and didn't just accept that what you were getting was all there was. That kind of strenght tells me you are going to be allright.

Therapy can be wonderful with the right therapist. Just because one doesn't work, doesn't mean they were a bad therapist. But therapists are people too, and as people we just don't always click. With a therapist it is very important that there is a good strong connection. I loved my last therapist. She was not even licensed yet, but was an intern, yet she was very good, and we had a very good connection.

Keep up the good work Lurkings, things will only get better for you.

Juls

~Woodtick,
My friend asked her friend for a refferal. No meds. I don't think I will need them. There has been a lot of stuff gone on in my life since I was really little and I have just never talked about it. So I think over time I will be fine and able to handel it all. I didn't feel really good right away but the more the day went on I just kept feeling better and better! I love my guitar!!!

~Juls,
Thanks Juls!! The lady I am talking to now asked me who I saw before. When I told her who it was and why I left she says that she has had a lot of clients from him that felt the same way as myself. So that made me feel great... I felt bad for leaving him because he dropped my rate really low. She said that would charge whatever he was charging for me to see her... That was so nice!!!
