Effexor - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

Well, I took 5 days of my starter pack of this new med my Dr. put me on...Effexor. I was suppose to switch at day 7 to a larger dose. I switched to the larger dose tonight. I went from 37.5 to 75 mgs. I hope I notice a difference soon. I hope switching 2 days sooner than I was suppose to is alright.

Depression can be hard at Christmas time.

Tried it and ended up with Paxel...the effexor was and is not strong enough. Plus it made my hands shake like i was in the beginning stages of Parkinsons..

Everyone's reaction to medication is different. Why did you switch two days sooner than was recommended? It can take, I believe, up to 4 to 6 weeks sometimes to feel the full effets of a medication. Stay in close contact with your Dr. about what you are experiencing and what you are doing.

I hope you start to feel better soon.
