((Lilya)) Our Thanksgiving was great! We always spend Thanksgiving with my mother, she is 82 now. And is still a fabulous cook. We always have the traditional southern American style thanksgiving. With turkey stuffed with cornbread dressing, and mashed potatoes and turkey gravy; cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and smoked ham, different vegetable dishes. And of course Pumpkin pie, apple pie and pecan pie, and my favorite, Chocolate bundt cake! After we finish with all of that we all feel like the stuffed turkey ourselves. Then its on to planning for Christmas another big day for stuffing ourselves. Seems like it is never ending! And this is the way I always look afterwards! :lumpy ha ha haLove and big ((hugs)) Bonni

hello lilya i had a nice thanksgiving. we spent the morning cleaning for our guests. then we watched the football game while snacking on cheese, crackers, carrots, ranch dressing, gardettos...i love gardettos...then once all the guests arrived we had dinner. there was turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, cranberries, sweet potatoes, rolls, string beans... ...it was soooo good. my dad is involved in a homeless outreach ministry with our church, so we invited a couple homeless people over to our house. after dinner, we had pecan and pumpkin pie. then one of the guests who was homeless challenged my dad to a game of "risk". its a world domination game. it was such a great holiday. thanx for asking lilya! did you have a nice restful weekend?dotcom

I had a pretty good Thanksgiving, my dad got a three hour pass from the hospital and I took the meal to his house. I made Spanish rice, cheese enchiladas, sour cream enchiladas, grilled steak enchiladas, and chicken enchiladas, something for everyone. Also had black beans, tamales, tortilla chips with guacamole and spicy black bean dip, salad, a corn side dish, fake wine, you know the sparkiling type, non-alcoholic. three-layer coconut cake, double fudge three-layer chocolate cake and of course pumpkin pie with the creamiest whipped topping I could find.. Sometimes I just have to do do something different. Christmas will be traditional, with ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casseroles, stuffing/dressing,sweet potatoes and marshmallow topping, veggie tray with dips, cranberry sauce, wheat rolls with honey-butter spread and whatever else can I conjure up! I am hungry already! LOL... How was your weekend Lilya? Hope it went well!! *hugs* :redrose :yellowros

2stop, What a Mexican feast!! Yum!! We had good food but it was not the most relaxed day. My fav is Christmas eve. I cook a traditional Ukranian meal: seven types of fish, homemade pieroghi...13 dishes total. Primarily I identify with my Italian heritage but not on Christmas eve. We have anywhere from 20-30 people over. Most are people who have no family to be with. It's wonderful. My parents came last year and will come this year too...that's a special treat. How are you doing? Did you give a call to the doc at U Maryland? They may even have the capacity to answer questions via phone. (((((peace))))) Mamabear

I' m glad everybody had such a good weekend. Sounds really yummy. I love Mexican food. I´m having computer problems, it´s difficult to deliver the book and Christmas tension is apparent in my family - otherwise, everything is good. I´m so sorry I cannot tell you more about my books because of anonymity - my editors, my family etc. All I can tell you that it´s like delivering a baby and I have no idea how it´s going to turn out! Then on to Scandinavia! Quote:

((((((Lilya))))) I understand about the anonymity......I am going to go by a pseudonym whenever I get my work published. You can never be too careful.....Sorry about the computer problems, hope it gets up and running perfectly soon. Have a great trip to Scandinavia...hurry back and tell us about it! It's like reading one of books just by your elegance in posting here.... **Hugs across the ocean** :boat Love and light sailing your way too!!!!

(((Tammie))) It sounds like you had a yummy Thanksgiving!! I love to do that once in awhile myself, have something different for a holiday dinner. And I love mexican food, growing up in California, we've always had a lot of delicious mexican food around. I practically grew up on it. (lol) Its always been one of my favorites. ((Lilya)) Hope your doing ok. Your lucky, going to Scandinavia! Have a wonderful trip. I'm anxious to hear all about it when you get back. :star

I´ll be taking my laptop with me, and I´ll be staying in a house my family owns in Norway, so I won´t be far. I´ll be in the cold and the dark, but it´s so magical. I´ll be touring around, ending my journey in one of my favorite cities, Copenhagen. I can´t wait to taste the red hot dogs you can buy at the town square and having smorgardsfeast at my favorite restaurants. I want to see a nice play, and I´d like to go to the Louisina art centre. I lived there once, long time ago, and I always love Copenhagen. I´ll be reporting to you about what´s going on. I hope we´ll have snow! Quote:

Turkey and turkey. I went to my ex-wife's parents house as planned. The night after thanksgiving I went to my best friend's parents house for their dinner. My best friend is a recovering alcoholic just like me. I went because he is sober right now and I'm hoping I can give him support in some way. He has a great family too.
