| WOW! I got 10 inches
of snow yesterday! LOL did that get your attention? For those of you on the metric system that equates to 25.4 centimeters. This is the first significant snowfall of the season for my region. It is a beautiful blanket of white on everything. Unfortunately I'm too broke to go snowboarding. I spent two hours in my old plow truck last night clearing snow from my driveway and still have more to finish. It equates to about 3/4 of a mile of plowing altogether to do my drive, so those of you that don't get snow will understand if I ever complain about it. No complaining this time though, it has been a long time coming. I always enjoy the first snowfall of the year! I think I'll put a fire in the fireplace and enjoy a peaceful evening tonight. It just seems like the right way to complement the day, but no wine to go with it anymore, we all know why. I wish I were computer savy enough to post a pic, it is really gorgeous. My dog is having a blast.

Hi Woodtick, Isn't it wonderful to be able to feel joy about something, and be sober too? The snow you describe sounds beautfiul. Out in California of course, if we want to see snow, we have to drive to it. My daughter is seven, and I'm determined to get her up on skis this year. Prior to this she was so tiny there weren't any small enough for her. She had a problem with sleep apnea, and it was affecting her growth. She had the apnea because her tonsils were huge and were affecting her breathing at night, but they had to wait until she was 30 pounds before they would attempt the surger. She didn't hit 30 pounds until after she had turned six. Since the surgery she has gained almost 20 pounds, and has grown several inches as well. She eats so much better, and her school work went from being below grade level to two grades above. She is in second grade, but in many areas can do the work of fourth grade. You can imagine how good all that makes me feel. If you ever figure out to to scan a pic, definitely show us one of your cabin in the woods, and your baby (dog), LOL. Juls

Justme, I laughed so hard after I wrote this. It put me in a good mood all day. It was rather juvenile but I said if it makes somebody smile, why not. I have found Duluth to be just the right size city for me. Big enough to have a little bit of everything but not so big it's a mess. If you ever visit, take the senic tour up the north shore of Lake Superior in the summer. It's absolutely fantastic. Juls, Yup this sobriety suit fits me and feels good. I have to stick with it. Teaching children to ski is a wonderful idea, I encourage it whole-heartedly. My parents did it for me. When I lived in Utah my brother came to visit with his daughter, she was about eight or nine at the time.We took her to Solitude Resort east of Salt Lake City for the weekend. We put her in ski school in the morning while we adults hit the hills hard. By the end of the day she was able to navigate from the top of the mountain with us via the easier slopes. It was such a confidence building experience for her, the female instructor was so good with my neice not to mention it was like having a babysitter tend while we had fun! LOL! I have childhood memories of family ski vacations that I will never forget, maybe something I should add to my "good things in life" thread.

Good Morning Woodtick, Seems you have started something ! lol Yes, I have seen pics of lake Superior , " Irish" used to say he lived on the edge of it ! LOL ! I have a map of deluth here on the wall in my PC room. Living in OZ, I have always found it hard to imagine anyone actually living with snow , we have a snow season, but have to drive 3 hrs to see it ! Personally , i cant see why anyone would drive 3 hrs to be colder and wetter ! HUGX Lee
