My thanks to sobriety

My friends,

I´m happy today, the film festival is over and I did my speech for a packed house with a full orchestra for our last film event. I had my father there in a wheelchair who applauded like mad when I stepped down, and my mother as far away from him as possible - for security sake. At the end, when the audience recognized him there in his wheelchair, they gave him a standing ovation. He was an artist. I was so proud that I could give him this pleasure and all the people there.

This moment was so special for me, because it would never have happened if I had not make this commitment to me and AA and t stay sober. I want to share this with you who have supported me for this incredibly stressful week.

When I´m down, I often ask myself what´s the point of staying sober? This is one of the answers. It really pays.

Thanks all of you,

Lilya, I am so happy that all worked out well!! And I like what you added about sobriety and your commotment to AA and the program making it possible..at the moment the pain is intense and I feel so broken I am blessed to have someone remind me that it works...if I work it. I don't know how, but I will make my dreams a reality too. I know that you had to move past heartache and pain, and the insnaity of drugs and alcohol...and you offer me hope today...Thank you...
