| Triple Diagnosies
Just recently found out in addition to BiPolar I have Schizoaffective AND Borderline Pers disorder (and alcohol abuse and PTSD) My God!! No wonder I've been in the menal health system (hosp. + 50 different meds + therapies) for 34 yrs. And on top of that the STIGMA of being mentally ill. Lost support of family and friends. I beat myself up for bad behaviors in the past. Manic bad thins I did. Getting older --54yrs--has some relief cuz I just dont have the energy to keep repeating the past. Besides years of inner stress took its toll on my body. I just do my best to keep myself functional day to day. I have wisdom that comes through whenever I get off-balance. Just.......ride out the storm...........Hugs and well wishes to all

Hi, I'm sorry you're going through so much. Just keep in mind, underneath all these diagnosese, you're still a wonderful energy and soul. Keeping yourself functional is something to be very proud of. Most people would have just given in and given up. Do you have a group or friends you see? |

I agree with Lavash: be proud that you're keeping yourself functional and moving forward and doing your best to deal with your multiple-diagnoses. And remember, SR's a great place to hang out if you're looking for a friendly shoulder. |

Just from my experiences: diagnoses are often made preliminary without the doctor knowing all of the patient's story. I personally was diagnosed with bipolar, depression with psychotic features, schizophrenia, insomnia, and anxiety/panic disorder. Today, I just have depression and am on an SSRI to help me which works well most of the time. But, in the end, I am an alcoholic as well. Which, in my humble opinion, is the root of all my troubles. You're my hero, Dingleberry. I can't imagine making it to that age with all you've had to endure. It's a miracle you can keep a positive attitude. I just have depression and that's a struggle for me everyday.
