| Cipramil/Citaprolam
I don't know if this comes under asking for medical advice, but would just like some suggestions from others experience. I've been taking the anti-depressant SSRI Citaprolam for a couple of years, but no longer really like the way it is making me feel. (I know that everyone is different.) Problem is that I'm pretty chemically sensitive. If anyone has had good experiences with something else for depression/anxiety that is non-addictive, has a good record with few side effects, I'd be interested so that I can research it further and discuss with my doctor. I am nervous about Zoloft and Prozac. I've been diagnosed with bipolar of the mostly depressive sort but don't really get manic episodes. Maybe I did when I was younger but these days no after some brain trauma that I've experienced. I did try the mood stabiliser Sodium Valproate (Valpro) once but after a few days it just seemed to make me very agitated and angry. |

Didn't have success with Zoloft, never been on Prozac. Took Celexa for several years, then didn't need it anymore. What I didn't know was how addictive the drug was. I was on half of the lowest dose for months, my doc told me I should have no withdrawal symptoms. Long story short, I was losing my mind the first 2 weeks after I stopped taking Celexa. Never been more mentally unbalanced before or since. It's probably different for everybody, but be careful and stop gradually and if you have withdrawal, you are not going crazy, it's just the drug's farewell. Good luck!

I started taknig Citalopram last month after being on Prozac for 11 years (!). It wasn't addictive for me, I just had a very bad doctor! So far I can't see a huge difference with the Citalopram, but I'm being cautiously optimistic. When I first started taking Prozac they helped me an awful lot-I was able to start living my life again! But they started to heighten my anxiety and so now I'm in the trial and error stage that you are in, OzSandy, of finding something that will work for both depression and anxiety. Best of luck to you xx
