My physical frame feels weak, I feel weak mentally, I feel dumber than ever... is that what I am to expect from sobriety...? Jeez... I don't get it, 262 days sober... I feel like I'm being fooled... sadness engulfs me.

I think it is important to suppliment your body with nutrients etc. that you may be lacking. i am not a Dr. and i would recommend doing some research, but i would recommend. drink water all day long. b-12 and b complex milk thistle (quality brand) for the liver quality multi vitamin. i would be also good to get some blood work to see your overall health including your thyroid and iron content. i am going through simiilar circumstances, but i differ in that my problem is more mental. my diagnosis is that my neuro transmitters and the like need some tweeking. it is a holistic recovery mind and body that we need to understand. also we use alcojol as medicating ourselves from certain things. once we address the real problem then we will be better off and will no longer want to medicate ourselves with the life stealing alcohol. you have made a good choice to quit. |

Tell me about it. I feel like I am on a ship that is going nowhere and if I stop the controls for a milli-second it either crashes or takes me somewhere I don't want to go. I don't know what it is going to take to find happiness. I just seem chronically sad and I can't find my out of it, because everything seems sad to me. I'm not looking forward to anything. I feel your pain Paulos. I get annoyed with all the advice on how to handle depression too, because I've already done it all. It just doesn't seem to work when you are severely depressed.

I hate just not drinking, when that's all I did I was miserable as well. I have learned to take actions that allow me to be comfortable in my own skin. The same ease and comfort that a few drinks used to provide. My question I would ask you to consider is what are you actively doing to change your outlook on life. You don't have to answer to me, or anyone else for that matter, but it is something worth considering. I hope you find peace.

| orbital boy | Paul, it sucks that you've been suffering so much lately. Try to relax as much as possible, and make sure to give yourself credit for your commitment to sobriety. Remind yourself that you have accomplished a lot. Puyo puyo |
