Guys i think i have a problem, its hard for me to talk about it, but, well, it started a few months ago, i see these images in my head, ive been sober for awhile now (i was an alcoholic) but ive been seeing these images in my head, as im driving, on the bus, it doesnt matter, wherever i go out i start to daydream (at least i think its a daydream) & i see these scary things that seem so real....last night i heard voices, i tried to sleep it off but i ended up staying up all night because i couldnt fight the things i would see with my eyes shut, & i heard voices, it was too intense, i need to know if its serious & what should i do!?

Hey there~ I would def. say yes, very serious. But something that you can get help for. Go see a doctor or go to the ER, they can help you and find out what is wrong. but let someone help you, there are a lot of people out there who go through the same thing so they will be able to help you when you go ask for help. Let us know how it goes okay?

I would ask for an MRI to rule out anything physical like a tumor or seizure and then go from there. Audiovisual hallucinations can be caused by Migraine with aura, Schizophrenia, seizures, etc.. I think there is also alcohol induced psychosis with hallucinations so be honest with the doctor about your previous alcohol intake. See a doctor right away and don't do anything dangerous right now like drive or operate dangerous equipment or swim or take a bath.

I have hallucinations and hear voices - have done for years. My psychiatrist said that there are a number of non-physical things that can cause this. I would go along and see my GP and tell him/her about your drinking habit, any drugs you are taking etc. Just put everything on the table. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, go to another dr.
