Been thinking about not taking my meds for depression. I have been on 20mg for almost 2 years and want to try and live life without popping a pill every morning. (plus the sexual side effects are really putting a damper on my romantic life) Do you think there will be side effects if I just stop taking them?

There can be significant withdrawal symptoms from abruptly discontinuing your medication. I urge you to discuss this with your doctor before you do so. Here's a list of possible side effects should you "just stop taking them."
SSRI / SNRI Withdrawal Syndrome
Again, please think twice.
And call your doctor.
I'm not saying not to get off your meds if that's what you want to do. I'm simply saying, do it safely.

Almost definitely. Something you should bring up with the person prescribing you the medication though. They may have a lower dosage which could make stopping a lot more pleasant. They may also be able to suggest something with fewer side effects. But you shouldn't ask too much of us. I could talk a pretty smart game over the internet, but for all you know I could work at White Castle.

Years ago I switched to Effexor because of other AD's sexual side effects. If u feel u may want to continue a med. this is a good one I have tried all the others and had the sexual issues. Please be carefully and talk to ur DR. Take Care.... Kerry
