O.k., now here is one of my favorite movies when I'm having the blues. It's called "Defending Your Life," with Albert Brooks, and Meryl Streep.

Also, try to take time to look in the mirror every day and say something positive to yourself. For instance, I am: then list the things that you want to be.

The mirror is a great exercise, Juls. When having a depressive episode it´s good to hold your throat very gently and imagine there is a blue light emerging from within. The throat is the ancient emotion shakra and it´s often blocked by negative feelings. Like the artist Jean Miro said: "There are two suns in our lives: One shining from the outside and the other from within. As we grow older, the sun within us grow stronger and now I have thousand sparkles burning within me..."

Here are some thoughts on gratitude:

Gratitude is born in hearts that take time to count up past mercies.
Charles E. Jefferson (1860 - 1937)

Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
Cicero (106 BC - 43 BC), 'Pro Plancio,' 54 B.C.

Gratitude is merely the secret hope of further favors.
Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613 - 1680)

Those are great quotes above! I love collecting quotes, I will sit for hours and read over them. Here is one of my favorite quotes ever, it just strikes something beautiful in me.......

This is from Lao-tzu in the Tao-te Ching.....

When you find the way
others will find you.
Passing by on the road
they will be drawn to your door.
The way that cannot be heard
will be echoed in your voice.
The way that cannot be seen
will be reflected in your eyes.

Here are some on creativity:

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.
Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973)

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
Scott Adams (1957 - ), 'The Dilbert Principle'

Every time we say, "Let there be!" in any form, something happens.

Good one, Juls!

Here is one:

Ok, for us slow ones, what's teh first letter of the censored word? really...I'm at quarter-speed today!

Some of my favorite quotes:
"there is nothing more terrifying than ignorance in action"
- Goethe

"Stain not fair acts with foul intentions"
Sir Thomas Browne

"A wonderful fact to reflect upon, that every human creature is constituted to be that profound secret and mystery to every other"
Charles Dickens

I like those quotes! I´m so fried from the heatwave killing us here in Paris I cannot think of any good quotes right now. As I suffer in my 35 degree hot bedroom - despite my fan - I can only think of a line from one of Woody Allen´s films: "Eternity is long, especially towards the end." (Translated from French)

Oh, the first letter in Anthony Hopkin´s prayer is: "S". The corresponding swear word in French is "Merde". I doubt this forum will censor me there.

Nice to have you with us,

So vast is the nature of spirit that the energies which flow into it can never fill it, nor those which flow from it exhaust it.

To me this means that I will always be able to receive the essence of my true self, and that I will always have something positive to give others.

Always Remember..

Always remember to forget
The things that made you sad
But never forget to remember
the things that made you glad.

Always remember to forget
The friends that proved untrue
But don't forget to remember
Those that stuck by you.

Always remember to forget
the troubles that have passed away.
but never forget to remember
The blessings that come each day.

"It is essential that we understand that taking care of the planet will be done as we take care of ourselves. You know that you can't really make much of a difference in things until you change yourself."

Alice Walker

The idea of taking care of our planet is very important to me. The earth is our most precious resource. Changing myself is the first step in being able to make changes in the world around me.
