Problems with friend; need to drink

Hey there, a bit of background. I have this very supportive girl on MSN and we've been developing a very close bond over the past 2 years, she's helped me through all sorts of stuff, so it's obvious to say she's very important to me. The second part of this background is that I have some very bad social anxiety when it comes to friends, old wounds are easy to reopen and they make me want to throw up. So this Friday and today I PMed her a few times, she didn't bother to answer, today when I PMed her she just got offline and ignored me. I hadn't felt this way in a long time, she brought up all this past pain from other relationships where I was rejected cause of the same stuff. I'm terrified, more about losing her than any relapse I could experience.

Don't depend on her for your happiness. She may be going through her own issues. Give her space. Send a nice friendly email and ask her if you did anything wrong. She may not have even noticed you came online. I do that alot myself. My msn hasn't been working right either and I caught a virus through it one time as well.
Not making excuses for her but get an answer before you freak.

Once I start getting nauseous it's all over. I've been doing very well with trying not to freak. I wouldn't be in the mental health forum if I was competent at it.

Well, Oxford,
You don't *need* to drink. You may want to, but, that's a horse of a different color, isn't it?
Stubborn is offering some excellent suggestions.
What else do you do to help yourself get by?
Remember to always care for yourself physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Those areas of self care can really keep us pretty busy, ya know? And in a very positive area.
So, what are you going to do for yourself that's positive?

Shalom!

I can relate to these feelings but drinking won't help. It will cause you to end up feeling worse.

Listen to Stubborn and Historyteach. They are offering some amazing suggestions.

All of this makes tons of sense. It's easy for me to lose faith in others, I hate it, but in a way I can be very self-centered. It's not the good kind, it's the one where every negative thing someone does has to directly effect me. I'm trying to work on that. Tonight I'm going to try and write, it'll keep my mind off of things for enough time.

That's a great idea!
I wish you the best. Let us know how it works for you; share your experience with others so that they may learn, too, a better way.

Oh, and what type of writing do you do?

Shalom!

Hang in there, Oxy!! You can do it! Write, read, whatever makes you relax and takes your mind off your worries and is positive. I am watching cartoons for me. Very relaxing and makes me smile. Good advice from good friends rocks.

I'm the worst teacher for that kind of thing, I still have to convince myself of other things to handle depression with. I normally end up writing comedy, lots of absurdity, so far humor has been the most therapeutic path for me. Also singing, it really relaxes me.
