Someone mentioned it to me today, but I don't watch tv. Hubs had a very very bad experience with it. I know it is abusable. Office administrator in pdoc's office told me privately kids are putting it into joints! I think that is very very scary!

A quick google seach shows it's for those who took the drug and developed diabetes. Seroquel Lawsuits, Litigation & Lawyers – What You Should Know Seroquel can cause lots of weight gain, that much I know. Anything else, I don't. Shalom!

I don't take it, each month they give it to me cuz those doctors INSIST on it, and I refuse. It goes in the closet or the garbage...... That stuff is insane....... It would make me a giant overweight zombie if I took it like they tell me to.. I've tried to me but, holy man..

I had it; took it for about 5 days tops. Knew I couldn't take it. I was WASTED on it. Stoned out of my gourd, and PO'd that my counselor, who *knows* how easily I get effected by meds, recommended this crap to me for anxiety. Heck, that stuff is for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder! The nurse at my doc's office later said it was really strong stuff! Shalom!

Yea it really is. I am given it for sleep. They give me .25 mg. and they want me on like 150mg. I'm like are you OUT OF YOUR MIND? I SPLIT THE .25 IN HALF IF I EVER DO TAKE IT..... I don't get it.. I guess it is great for some people, and great for sleep, but dang is it strong. Zyprexa was 100X worse for me, omg.

Is seroquel addictive? My bipolar AH is prescribed 300mg and it makes him a complete zombie for most of the morning when he wakes up. I've been trying forever to get him off of it, but he says "it is the only thing that makes him sleep."

I take 200mg a night. I cannot sleep without it. I cannot stop the chatter that goes on in my head without it. I do crazy stuff without it. Hippy xx

I don't think it is addictive. There was a time when I COULD NOT sleep without it, there was nothing that would get me to sleep besides that drug. I am amazed at the dose I took now. For some it works wonders..

Callie, It is actually typical for a bipolar (especially a bipolar I or a bipolar heading into, or already in, a major depressive episode) to be groggy in the morning. I'm a zombie for at least a couple of hours and I haven't taken Seraquel in years. I actually now am on Provigil (originally for narcalepsy) to help combat my severe day-time sleepiness/fatigue. ----- i was given Seraquel at the first day-treatment center i went to after discovering my bipolar and then major depressive episode. I think i took it for at least a month, maybe several. I DO know that i craved sugar and chocolate like it was water and I was in the middle of the dessert during summer. I became borderline-diabetic, i think, but i don't know if i still am....i think so, just can't remember cuz of this stupid amnesia. ---- Lexapro.....no way....i'm a total zombie on it.

For helping me get to sleep at night....a pharmacist helped me discover plain-old, generic, over the counter antihistamine (technically called Diphenhydramine HCI 25mg). They are little clear gel capsels and they make me sleepy. Anything that helps me and i don't need an extra prescription for is awsome in my books! Jenna

I was given it last summer when I was in mental health. I thought I was dieing. I felt like I smoked a pound of weed and drank a keg. I was so sick. I passed out. I heard it makes you eat like crazy. Didnt like it.

I take seroquel. It stops the voices in my head and helps me sleep. I have noticed I'm craving carbs and sweets like crazy. However, it's really up to me to control what I eat. The drug on it's own won't make me fat, but if I don't moderate my diet and get some exercise, well, sure I'm going to get fat.

I have seroquel to take if I feel like I'm going down into a depressive episode. It seems to work. I haven't had an "episode" since last fall. I had 50, 100, and 200 mg samples. I've taken the 50 and the 100. Last week I took a 100 and it kicked my butt. I know that when I'm taking it, I'm going to bed. That time I slept 16 hours, felt groggy the next day, but I think it was worth it.

I use Seroquel to help me sleep, usually I take 100 mg to do the trick. It does make you groggy in the morning, but it's kind of a trade off between not falling asleep or being tired when you wake up. I havn't had a problem with it, but I can definitely see where Seroquel could be a problem for some people. It completely knocks you out and you forget your problems for about 12-14 hours, and you feel kind of buzzed after taking it. Use with caution! |

I was taken off it as was still having problems despite being put up to max dose...600mg. I am going to beg my pdoc for it back this week as since stopping, I have not slept without a sleeping pill....all I can hear is the crazy chat in my head. I have tried ODing since coming off. Give me it back......NOW....please! Hippy xx

Please don't assume that Seroquel is a "bad" drug just because you had a negative exerience on it. I take Seroquel and it helps me immensely.
