>-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is easily confused, states of confusion and short term memory loss part of bipolar? or is something else going on?< They have been for my son. What I haven't figured out is if it's the bp or the medications. Looking forward to the answers you get on this one. |

For me, yes it is. I have a hard time remember things that I said minutes ago and things that happened. I forgot often going into a room and why I am going in there. Maybe some others can elaborate on this one. |

My experience is that until I started the meds for BiPolar type II I had a fairly good memory. Today I have to make lists and check a calendar daily or I will not do what I am supposed to do. I even forget to check my calendar. I finally put it on my computer screen as I check my email every morning. That has helped immensely. It is quite frustrating. Even more frustrating as I am working on my biology degree and it makes school work extremely hard.

In college I was in a students with disabilities program because my psych had sent them my info on my diagnosis of bipolar and schiz. affective. I can tell you, the student planner was my BFF (best friend forever). Now, my calender like nandm is my BFF. |
