Ive seemed to have a manic episode yesterday, but not the happy high ones I used to get more the agitated reckless crazed ect. It ended in a complete crash and today Im somewhere in the middle of blah. Somewhere in the middle of the craziness I took a 1.0mg Xanax and never felt it, although Im sure it would have gotten worse had I not taken it. Im glad I seem to be through the manic part now but I so NEVER want to be there again

(((Cinderella))) Are you bipolar? I don't recall. I'm sorry you had a bad day yesterday. ![]() Did you call your doctor? Perhaps it's a good idea to do so. Or at the very least, keep a journal, so you can bring it to your next appointment. Please take good care of yourself. And continue to let us know how you're doing... Shalom!

Something to consider is if you have recently quit drinking or using (by recently I mean anywhere from one day to a year or so) the symptoms you exhibit could easily be related to your body detoxing. Many people experience symptoms similiar to depression, bipolar, and other mental illnesses during their recovery period. It is excellent that you are keeping a journal. Great job at self care there. It should provide you with good information to present to your psych doc and/or regular doc when you feel med changes may be needed. Keep up the good work!

Thanks nandm and no I havent recently quit drinking or using, its just my mood swings. Somethings changing with my seratonin levels I know cause the last week my migraines have returned and Ive had 2 dizzy spells again and felt dellusional. SOmething which hasnt occurred in almost 5 years. Then they could never find out what caused it so I kinda hate to mention it and pay another $2000 in tests that reveal NOTHING.

You mentioned a primary doc but do you see a psychiatrist? My primary first started treating me for depression but after the 4th (or so) anti-depressant he realized it was more complex than just depression. He referred me to a pdoc. I think I've had more luck that way. |

I get migraines also when my seretonin levels fluctuate or decrease. I also quit dreaming when my levels start dropping. Strange how chemicals affect the more than one aspect of the brain.

| This is just a thought but can you find a psych doc that would handle your meds without the therapy end? That is what I have right now. I just go in to see her every 3 months and she talks to me for a second to decide if we need to change anything then writes me a script. I also have the option of calling her if I feel I need to see her sooner. I also see a psychologist for counseling type treatment. But having the psych doc only handling the meds would mean that you would only have to do a co-pay every 3 or 6 months depending on the doc.
