Hi all, I'm an alcoholic, was a binger for 2.8 years, 22 year old autistic male here... everything has been bothering me lately... fearful I ain't smart enough for life, bad memory, fat... dumb... stupid... and out of sync. The only thing I've been doing good is I'm on day 14 without booze because I know booze is just making my life possibly tenfold worse. Well anyway... hi and life sux. -.-.

Congratulations on 14 days!!! ![]() Please believe me; you *are* smart enough for life, providing you take it one day at a time. ![]() Are you going to meetings? Do you have a sponsor to help you with the steps? They will help you improve your life, day by day. Remember to do something each day physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually for yourself. That's how we take care of ourselves. And if things continue to look negative, perhaps you will want to see your doctor and tell him/her how your feeling. SOmetimes, it takes medication to help us over the hump. I wish you the best, and hope you continue on your wonderful path. It will lead to happiness. Shalom!

Paulos, Do you belong to an autism support group? We don't have one here, but, I do know there's one on Revolution Health - Revolution Health Of course, I'm not telling you to leave SR!!! LOL! I just thought you might get some support from people who share the same problem of autism as you do there. And share the problem of alcoholism here. And can you tell us a bit about your illness? I'd like to know more. ![]() Shalom!

Paulos, I don't know too much about autism, but it seems to me that you're doing really well. I really wish you would be kind to yourself. Also, being sober for 14 days is terrific! Be proud of yourself. And, I agree completely, that alcohol makes anything and everything worse.

Hi barb, thanks for the kind words all and it's day 15 now, and sadly where I live there are no autism groups in my area of Pennsylvania, not even any doctors who specialize in it... but yeah I'm trying to do things for myself daily but it's hard also due to me being a fool going off my 125mg Lamictal for a month while binging on booze to get down to 50mg only to stop boozing and then have major anxiety from stopping my medication so suddenly and then my anxiety from boozing combined with these things it was tough, I think I'm getting a little better though, but I'm a BIG OCDer/fearer about things.

Paulos, I 'm curious as to why you decided to go off of the Lamictal. Were you just sick of being on meds or was the Lamictal causing side effects? I'm interested because I know a couple of people who take that drug and feel it has helped them with OCD symptoms. Also, CONGRATULATIONS on 16 days sober! Yay! Love, Kit |

Welcome my friend, I wish you well. So young and so much to live for. Never give up on yourself my friend, the miracle sometimes awaits us just around the corner.
