Help! I'm recovering from breast cancer and my oncologist wants me to take Taxol for five years. This is standard cancer treatment for my diagnosis. He says that it 'might' have an impact on my bipolar meds - mood swings! My meds are 900mg Trileptol, 60mg Strattera, and 60mg Cymbalta a day (I know, this is an odd mix but it works for me). I don't ever, ever want to risk another bi-phase, especially as I am also a recovering alcoholic (10 years). Does anyone have any insight into the effects on Taxol on bipolar people?

A pharmacist may be a good person to ask about such things. Many times they have a better understanding of drug interactions then a Dr. I would also check with the Dr that is treating you for the bipolar. Always wise to let both DRs know of any changes.

| Good ideas...
Thanks I'll give the pharmacist as well as my med docs a try. I'm going to have to get a new doc for my meds, he has recently decided that the patients can just deal with the insurance, so I now have to pay his entire fee up front, which is about 300.00...... AnnieUnix |
