WOW, Bozo...not at all. When I do take the Trazadone, I sleep like a LOG! And if I do happen to wake up, I am able to fall BACK asleep! Frankly, I don't take it often, but, I love it when I DO take it, cuz I actually sleep through the night! ![]() Hope you get some rest... ![]() Shalom!

Mike, The trazadol dreams will start to fade. When I first started taking it, I dreamed in techocolor. The dreams were very strange but not scary. When I'd awake, I could remember them down to the slightest detail. But they do go away. Carol |

| ![]() I always worry when people dispense medical advice on a message board. I urge people to read the folder that comes with their prescription meds, look up the official drug facts online, or get a book with the official indications and side effects. I am on Trazodone and have been for months. I was placed on it when in a rehab hospital. My effects / side effects are: -- I fall asleep and sleep through the night, instead of waking up with racing thoughts and anxiety in the middle of the night. -- I have incredibly vivid dreams, very spectacular, with complicated plots and casts of characters. Before, my dreams were very dull, usually not remembered. -- I often wake up with an erection, and my sex drive is far stronger than before. The fact sheet on Trazodone says that it can lead to impotence -- but it also can lead to an increased sex drive, and even to priapism -- those 4 hour erections they warn about on Viagara commercials. Saying that Trazodone "prevents erections" is simply not supportable. Your husband may have had that effect -- it's in the fact sheet. But in others it can help restore sex drive and erections. If you are an alcoholic and you were drinking a fifth a day, that could kill your sex drive. If you are on Trazodone and other powerful anti-depressants, maybe also beta blockers, that could affect your ability to get and sustain an erection. Another effect may be that, while you can become erect, you can't easily ejaculate. But before you blame drugs you are on for mental health, keep in mind the incredibly powerful drug you may be addicted to: alcohol. |

I've been looking for alternative to Benzos or pot to help me sleep and Trazodone looked promising esp after I heard it was non-addictive,but then I found out it has withdrawl effects that mimic Benzo's withdrawls if used on a daily basis(as little as .25 mg a day can cause seizures if quit CT). BTW if something has withdrawl effects how is it non-addictive?? Hmmm. makes me wonder.
