i haven't tried it, but i know a few people who have. it is supposed to be good for depression, as well as neuropathy (pain usually associated with diabetes or poor circulation). i know of some it has worked for and some it hasn't.

thanks Meli and Oncenice, I have a lot of muscle pain and mild deprerssion. Right now I take a low dose of wellbutrin so that would go if I give this a try. Glad to hear you both have no side effects. I am hoping it doesn't up my anxiety level. Did it take a while to feel the benefits? |

Hi, I was just put on this yesterday for anxiety. 30mg for the first week and 60mg for next 3 weeks. I was on wellbutrin but just had a whole round of medical tests due to having chest pains, palpitations, tingling and numbness in my arms and numbness in my face. All tests came back negative (thank God!) and she believes that this is all being brought on by anxiety. Stands to reason because the symptoms get much worse when I am stressing out. Anyway, hopefully some more people will offer their experience on it as well. Hugs, Kellye

In the leaflets you receive with anti_depressants it usually states that your symptoms may worsen in the initial stages, I think it's worth noting if you are starting out on any A.D's. Just I noticed a couple of people on these boards and in this thread saying that they had tried things and had had a "speed" effect or higher anxiety. I got it when i started on these Cipralex but it all calmed down and they work very well. May be worth sticking with each drug for three or four weeks then you know for sure if it doesn't work for you.

| Cymbalta
I take Cymbalta for depression, 60mg a day, and Straterra 60mg a day for ADHA. This was when my Effexor, 375mg per day time release, stopped working. For me, this change was a disaster. My GP made the change, which was bad - IMHE I will only go to a proper psychopharmacologist from here on. The combination gave me fughe (sp?) states. I wasn't depressed, but I got out of control, not sure which on these factors caused that however.

Reikihelps, I have been put on Cymbalta for pain and mild depression. I take 60mg each night and it seems to work good for me with no side effects that I can tell. I have had three surgeries on my back and two on my shoulder from work related injuries and I didn't want to take anymore hydrocodone so the doctor put me on Cymbalta to help with the pain. I know everyone is different but I can say that it helps me with my pain and also with my mild depression. Blue

I take a low dose of Cymbalta. It alone did not help me out of depression. Then I was given Straterra, I am astounded how much my life has improved! I went from moping and sitting around all day to an active and satisfying life style in a matter of thirty days. Zencat |

Very cool Zencat! Seems we are all very different. I gave up after a month on cymbalta. Made me feel like a zombie and that was at 20 and 30 mg. Getting off it was a b-tch. Grrrrr. Today is the first day I am starting to feel like myself again. Phew. I am very grateful. Was optimistic as my Dad uses it and has such good luck with it. Back to yoga, meditation and 200 mg of wellbutrin. Thanks for the ears everyone. |
