Need some help with boat plans

I have been looking for a little bit for a swamp boat plans/picture. I think thats what they are called, I would like to try and fab a flat bottom, big a$$ fan running boat with the air rudders, driver sits above the boat in like a captinas chair. I have not seen one in California....yet.

I have tried to search so I can at least get a decent picture but I cant seem to find one.

Am I calling this the right boat when I say swamp? Anyone seen or know where I might find some more info.

Thanks in Advance

I got a old VW motor and I bunch of scrap tubing/metal I think I can do this with what I got!

Yeah, I have been wanting to do this for a little bit now, and now that I have Lake Oroville not more then 20 mins from me I need to try a little harder.

If your looking for a fishing boat, I'd chose something else. They're really used for getting around in swampy areas where there's not enough water for boats with a significant draft, and you occasionally need to run up on grass flats or other low-water areas to get where you're going. They're noisy enough that I think they'd blow out every fish around before you ever got a line in the water. In addition, they've got no keel at all, so I wouldn't think they'd be very stable or comfortable to run unless you were in pretty sheltered waters.

I've ridden in one once, and they are fun. Not sure I'd want to own one though, and I definitely wouldn't want one running within 10 miles of where I was fishing.

This is just for fun, but if I can fish in it also that would be a plus. I'm just looking for something to putz around on. I believe I have most of the stuff already.

I will keep you guys posted with the progress. When it stops raining I take a photo or the parts, then keep it updated as it goes along.

Gracias Amigo's
