Dating - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

I am 54 and have been on my own for about 15 years. Since I have been sober I have been thinking about a partner and what to do about it. I know I am NOT going to go to bars and clubs or any stuff like that!

So I have been talking and reading about it as I figure I have two choices, be on my own and whinge about it or take some action. I have just finished reading a book called "How to find, meet and date a beautifil woman" by Bob Lott. Some of it I can leave, but he has some really powerful stuff in there and it has given me some hope.

I am posting this beacuse I respect your opinions and I want to know what you all think about Dating, especially in sobriety.

I know how you feel man I really do and I just want to let you know that you have to follow your heart, that is where the answer is( not our head ) our heart. I know that I too am lonely alot and that is ok, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life alone either, I truely feel that when the time is right that we both will find what we are looking for. Actually I am sure they will find us when the time is right.

I think your right, timing is everything, well at least when the time is right I will be ready, sober, smiling, groomed, respectful and very much alive

Do some 13th step work at an AA meeting Nogard. There has to be some good looking women at your meetings. Ask one over to your house to discuss the Big Book and then put the moves on her.

I believe women just happen to land in your life. Excluding barfly tramps, the women I have been serious with I met at banks, school, ect... The girl of your dreams will just pop up eventually. You might smash into her with a shopping cart or something.
