| Psalm 118:24 | 1st Car
I'm sure this has been done b 4. Everyone remembers their 1st car. In 73 I got my first sled a 69 Plymouth Fury. It had a 318 in it. This car was stock from the git go. had manual steering, manual brakes, and no radio. I slapped an 8 track tape player in it. This was back when, a car was a footblall field in length. i could fit 6 people in it comfortably. My favorite story, i had a car load of girls with me. i was driving along got a flat tire. The girls wanted to prove they could change the tire. I'm standing watching the girls change my tire. A schol bus drives by and sees what's going on. next day at school, I'm getting razzed to no end because girls were changing my tire. hey!!! I was busy smokin a joint man. LMAO. I never knew if, the girls loved me for me or, cause I always scored the best bud.

'67 Galaxie 500 390 2bbl, Slapstick. Had a Volkswagen radio mounted under the glove box. Dunno why exactly, couldn't reach it from the driver seat, car was too wide. My first car was one of these, got it at age 15. Mine was several different shades of green though. And rust. And dents. |

Before I turned 16 and had my license I picked up a 63' Renault Dauphine with a cracked block. Put some solder seal through the radiator and stopped the leaks enough to learn to drive it around the lot and the long driveway we had. |

1973....66 Dodge 100 pick up. Slant 6 3 speed on the column. Hole in the floor. Was good for dropping cans out of on the highway if ever stopped. Was good for dropping cans out to empty the cab as well *LOL* 139,000 and a head gasket blew. Bought it for $300. $75 for a head gasket plus the tow...sold to the wrecker Co. for payment of the tow 1976...$100 for the 67 Chevy Impala... So on to car #2 and bike #1... Honda 125 on off road. Ahhh the days when gas was 48 cents and 50 cents would get me a round trip to school and then some riding at night.

My dad helped me by a '69' Nove SS. we rebuilt the 350 and dressed it all up pretty. This thing could fly. But at 16 years old my dad quickly realized this was way to much car for me to learn in. Maybe it was the horrific crash in my high school parking lot while trying to pull off a tire blazing figure "8" that was the final straw for him. He made me sell it and I got a 280 "Z". This thing wasn't as fast but I didn't have to slow down for the corners like in the nova. LOL (boy am I old!!!) Mike ( Now driving a work van and a honda accord with a booster seat in the back) |

I bought my first car when I was 14. It was a 67 malibu with the old Powerglide transmission and a 327. My uncle gave me a deal $350.00! Two of my cousin had went through and it was a little beat up and only got 8 mpg. Oh well, I loved it.
