Dude,
Totally cool that you had 9 months!

I was clean and fresh out tof rehab for 3 weeks and relapsed and then relapsed again...

I have been going to meetings EVERYNIGHT, talkin on this web site.. As much as possable.
But the thing I need most is. My famly to know how to read me so when I start acting funny, they can tell me and then I will know .. ut oh better get mako.. lol
and get to a meeting! and call someone and tell them and TALK! get it out!!! FIGURE IT OUT!!!! whats driving you to want to use!!!!!!

and then... just breath and tell yourself..

GOD... Please help me make it thru this day and overcome the urge to use!
Your the greatest.. man, dude, God!?

then KEEP COMMING BACK, IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT!
I wish you the best.. I wish it was easy! I am figuring it out the hard way that there is not an easy way!

Hi zane, and welcome to SoberRecovery. Relapse happens, I think alot of people here have been there, I know I have.

And I know that nobody is as hard on us about it as ourselves. Today's another day, the relapse is past, start today by doing what you did day-by-day for those clean 9 months.

You'll find alot of helpful people here, so hang in there, and keep posting.

Sure thats one way to look at it, but its not going to help you get past it at all. I know how you feel, I've gone in and out of recovery many, many times.
The longer I beat myself, the longer it took for me to get back at it again, and the last time it happened I noticed I was the only one holding it against me, and I was the only one stopping me from getting back into recovery.

People in recovery want to see us succeed, want to see us get back into recovery again, want to help us. Its up to us to let them...

I have this link for you to read through, as you get the time, save it, and browse through it, your not alone, not at all.

Hey zane,
Been there too buddy. Threw it all away for afew minutes of what I thought was what I needed. Found out what I really needed was what I had before my relapse.
You have a foundation of 9 months to build on. Nobody can take away that time. It's yours. We fall, we get back up, and we start over. Don't dwell on the stumble, stay focused on the road you're on.
Pulling for you! Stay strong.
Jerry

Hi Zanep

9 months is the thing to focus on here, I can't really add much more than what the others have said but we are all here for help and to help where we can. You might have relapsed, we all have. It is part of recovery. For what it's worth I was inspired that you made it nine months. I only made 6 months before I relapsed at the end of November.

Zanep,

Relapse is hard. But we can learn from it.

In addition to what others have said -- use this experience as a help. Take time to reflect on what happened before you picked up again. What was going on in your life and in your heart BEFORE you used again? It can really help a lot to reflect not so much on the relapse, but on all the things and feelings that lead up to the relapse.

We're here for you, buddy. We're all here for eachother.

Welcome Zane ..

You did for 9 months what it must have seemed impossible before. That proves that just for today we never have to use again. Thats the trick .. not to worry about net week or next year, just right now don't pick up the first one.

Keep coming back .. like th others have said we are here for each other.
